About this deal

Robert John Reed, Lord Reed of Allermuir took up appointment as President of the Supreme Court on 13 January 2020, succeeding Lady Hale of Richmond. Upon this appointment, Lord Reed became a life peer. Lady Simler was called to the Bar by Inner Temple in 1987, having read law at Cambridge University, and completed a post-graduate diploma in EU law at the Europa Institute, University of Amsterdam. She practised at the Bar at Devereux Chambers where she became Head of Chambers before becoming a judge. She was appointed to the Attorney General's Civil Panel A in 2001 and as Junior Counsel to the Inland Revenue (Common Law) in 2002. She took silk in 2006. To make a long story short, ErgoTune's Supreme V3 is easily the highest quality mesh chair we've tested at this price point. Whether it's right for you will ultimately depend on your tolerance for its strong lumbar support.

Lord Sales became a Queen's Counsel in 2006 and continued to act in the re-named post of First Treasury Counsel Common Law until his appointment to the High Court, Chancery Division in 2008. He was a member of the Competition Appeal Tribunal between 2008 and 2015, and Vice-President of the Investigatory Powers Tribunal between 2014 and 2015. Having started life in Singapore, the ErgoTune Supreme V3 arrived in Australia in 2021 and then made its way to the US market early in 2023. A Welsh speaker, Lord Lloyd-Jones was appointed to the High Court in 2005. From 2008 to 2011 he served as a Presiding Judge on the Wales Circuit and Chair of the Lord Chancellor's Standing Committee on the Welsh Language. In 2012 he was appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal and from 2012 to 2015 he was Chairman of the Law Commission. He was appointed as the inaugural President of the Law Council of Wales in October 2021. The role involves responsibility for all the non-judicial functions of the Court and overseeing the administration of a team of approximately 50 staff and contractors supporting the work of the Justices. The Chief Executive is an Accounting Officer in their own right. From 2017 she was the Court of Appeal’s jurisdiction lawyer, using powers delegated to her by the Master of the Rolls to give directions on matters of jurisdiction. During this time she also acted as an RCJ Anti–Bullying and Harassment advisor. In early 2022 she undertook a secondment to the Registry of the Supreme Court as Deputy Interim Registrar, and she was appointed as Registrar of the Supreme Court in September 2022.Celia trained as a solicitor in Cambridge and moved to London firm Goodman Ray LLP upon qualification, where she practised family law for 7 years and became an accredited Children Panel specialist. She subsequently worked as a solicitor advocate for a joint Local Authority Children's Services legal team before joining the Civil Appeals Office in 2015 as a case lawyer. At the Court of Appeal Celia worked closely with supervising Lord and Lady Justices to manage permission to appeal applications and appeals, with a particular focus on family law and immigration. In 2018 Celia became a Senior Legal Manager in the Administrative Court, responsible for supervising a team of lawyers who assist High Court Judges to case manage Judicial Review applications, exercise powers delegated by the President of the King's Bench Division and monitor trends in litigation. Celia was appointed Registrar of the Supreme Court in April 2023, a role that she job-shares with Laura Angus. It might hurt for a while, but once you realise how well it's supporting your body, you'll stop complaining. Of course, your overall comfort level with the Supreme V3 will surely be determined by your tolerance for its lumbar support, which does force you to sit upright with perfect posture.

The arm rests deserve a special mention. Not only do they rotate on the primary pivot, they can rotate on an additional pivot in front of that. This allows them to move in (towards your body) or further away from it, and also to have the rests point inwards or outwards. The latter movement is useful as the firmness can make for sore elbows after extended periods, but twisting them outwards alleviates this problem. Personally, I loved it, as it prevented me from slouching, which is something I always find myself doing in most other chairs. That said, some may find the Supreme V3's lumbar support a little too unforgiving. Thankfully, the lumbar section has its own rotating bar controls which let you loosen its tension somewhat. Sitting in a beanbag all day might seem comfortable until you get up. I’ve sat in enough dodgy, office chairs to respect that the ErgoTune Supreme V3 doles out some tough love, in that you can sit in it all day and get up and happily move around afterwards… in comfort! Not many other chairs (especially at this price) allow that.
