About this deal

DPT/Footwear Science: A- (Firmness of the midsole and secure upper creates a snappy shoe to be used for a variety of runs from race to recovery) LINDSAY: I’ve been loving Asics’ new engineered mesh uppers. Especially the minimalist tongue that’s soft and contours the ankle. Beautiful. The high heel counter is not really noticeable, per se, but it does add a bit of stability to the shoe and reduces any excessive ankle flexion. While it’s not the most breathable upper, it’s not warm or heavy either, and it’s got a style that will bring out the artist in you.

Doing longer efforts have been a little challenging as I have gotten used to more cushioning in footwear, but those used to less shoe will do well here. The durability has been above average in this shoe. Despite my usual mechanics, I have yet to wear through the additional outsole pieces. This is fairly good for me after 35 miles, so I expect a higher number of miles out of this lightweight trainer compared to others.Personal:A- ( I am really enjoying the ASICS Tri Noosa 14. The only thing that is deterring is the instability in off road conditions, but otherwise I love the ride.) ALEX: I wanted to love the Noosa Tri 15 and make it a primary non-plated trainer in my repertoire, but I’m sad to report my infatuation has waned, and I think my critique falls in two major camps; performance and aesthetics. Let’s talk performance first. I logged close to 50 miles in the shoe of varying distances and paced runs. While with the 14, I felt confident in what I could handle (almost anything) and had a similar bouncy experience, my time with the Noosa Tri 15 varied wildly. CATCH THE EYE AND CONSERVE YOUR ENERGY ON YOUR NEXT TRIATHLON WITH THE ASICS NOOSA TRI™ 15 2023.05.24 PRESS The new energy-saving shoe offers superior cushioning and propulsion to make training runs and triathlons faster and more energy efficient The updated midsole impressed our testers, and they praised it for its balance of protection and responsiveness, along with its highly versatile usability. Our team enjoyed shorter daily efforts as well as longer runs, and they even liked the Noosa Tri in the gym. Its ability to handle various paces was impressive, as the Noosa Tri felt smooth at slower paces and snappy at faster ones, giving our testers everything they needed for a variety of training runs. However, If you loved the previous bold prints and colors, get ready for some more new fashionable designs in this bold sneaker model. You’ll love how lightweight they feel coming in at 6.9oz for women and 7.9 oz for men. And having a 5mm heel drop makes this neutral running shoe a very stable one.

Review of ASICS Noosa Tri 15

LINDSAY: Step aside, Van Gogh. The Asics design team is here with its very own spin on post-impressionism. The Asics Noosa Tri 15 features bold colors with energetic and expressive stroke patterns, much like Van Gogh’s artistic style. It sure is eye-catching, and while I thought it was just too much at first, I have really grown to love this style. Performance: A-/A (A versatile shoe that performs well during a variety of paces. Slightly limited with its poor outsole traction over gravel and wet surfaces.) I bought the Aquarium/Vibrant Yellow color but they come in 5 other crazy color patterns that are all equally bright. My colorway is said to be inspired by Van Gogh’s paintings. Which I thought was a cool little tidbit. This shoe is designed with speed and comfort in mind – we’ve spent hours testing it at our Institute of Sports Science (ISS) in Japan. The NOOSA TRI™ 15 running shoe includes additional technical features to support you during your runs.

I am not a triathlete but I do appreciate the effortless effort I need to put forth to get these shoes on. I have been enjoying just slipping my feet into them with no hands and then lacing them up.

Trying them on for the first time, I noticed right away the tongue and how easy they were to slip my feet into them. The GEL-NOOSA Tri 15 is designed for triathletes but also for all types of runners and the model has been around for a number of years now and built for the neutral runner. Gwen Jorgensen who inspired me wore the older versions and this is what got me interested in the previous model. However unlike the 13s which had a massive revamp in my eyes, so far the 15s look very similar to the 14s. However what has always stood out for the NOOSA is the funky colours. My second critique cuts deeper, as style in running is on an equal playing field for me with substance. Why I fell in love with this line in the first place was its unapologetic silliness and a crazy shoe that seemed to stand alone in Asics’ offering. In this go-around, I didn’t receive pink bungee laces along with the standard ones (maybe I’ll get some aftermarket), and the Noosa Tri logo has been moved to a small space on the heel while the traditional ASICS logo now dominates the side and forefoot of the shoe. My first impression when opening the box was “Whoa.” The eye-catching colors are very loud and vibrant. I love that about them. I’ve been wearing a lot of neutral-colored running shoes and these have been a good change-up. Just looking at them gives you more energy.
