Pentofuryl 200 mg hard capsules are used in adults with acute diarrhea of bacterial origin without signs of invasive illness (such as a change in general condition, fever or infectious-toxic symptoms, blood in the stool). There are no data that would make a change in the dosage recommendation necessary in the case of renal insufficiency. You may be advised to change how you take the medication or to use a different method of contraception. If diarrhoea occurs as a side effect of a medicine, it could affect absorption of the combined pill or progestogen-only pill. An example of this is the weight loss drug orlistat.
How long to take it for
