About this deal

When preparing for MSRA, there are two main chosen approaches – question-bank based and ‘formal revision’ based. Do you have a disability which requires any specific arrangements / adjustments to enable you to attend a computer-based test, interview or assessment, or other selection process?"and select the adjustment(s) you require from the list of options. Extended matching questions – EMQ (chose the single most appropriate answer from a choice – answers relate to several questions)

The MSRA uses many different equated assessment forms and therefore knowledge of questions in one paper will not necessarily benefit others. We would also remind all applicants that entry to GP specialty training is competitive. GP specialty training 1 (ST1) 2023 round 2 scoring If you meet the bypass score (TBC) then you will not need to attend for interview. Those remaining will be ranked and invited to interview based on capacity. If your MSRA score is too low, you will not be shortlisted. Exam revision courses, books and online question banks are available. These are not endorsed by any of the question writers. Candidates may want to revise some topics before sitting the MSRA. Due to the normalisation of all MSRA scores, there is no maximum achievable score. For a given cohort of applicants, normalisation is dependent on the average performance of the cohort. It is therefore not considered meaningful to interpret the scores achieved in the MSRA with a maximum value. Appealing the outcome For detailed information about the MSRA process and content, go to the Taking the MSRAhub. Scoring scaleShould you wish to transfer your MSRA score, please answer 'Yes' when reapplying. What's in the MSRA? SBA questions present a clinical scenario and ask the candidate to select the single best answer from a list of options. Each SBA question usually requires the candidate to apply clinical knowledge and reasoning skills to identify the most appropriate diagnosis or management option for the given scenario. C is the best option as you are speaking directly with the registrar, and not undermining them in front of the patient or team. The question states that the ward round was busy so waiting until the end may be more appropriate, especially as the operation is still in 2 days’ time. GMC Good Medical Practice states that you should make sure ‘arrangements are made, wherever possible, to meet patient’s language and communication needs’ and be satisfied that consent is taken before providing treatment. As the nurse is reluctant to speak it is important to ensure the concerns do not go unnoticed, especially since you are aware his daughter usually translates.

There are two parts to the exam, the professional dilemma section and the clinical-problem solving section. Throughout both parts you are expected to assume the role of a Foundation Year 2 doctor (FY2). You have a scheduled five-minute break between the two sections of the exam. If you take other breaks outside of this time you will not receive any additional time. You are allowed to take the MSRA a maximum of three times, although this varies depending on the specialty. If you do not achieve a satisfactory score after three attempts, you may not be eligible to apply for the specialty in question. How much does MSRA exam cost? It is designed to assess your ability to apply your knowledge for clinical problem solving, rather than being a test of pure knowledge. The MSRA application for 2024 Round 1 opens at 10am on 26 October 2023 and closes on 23rd November 2023 at 4pm. Compare your performance to other candidates who are about to sit the 2024 MSRA exam. How are you doing compared to your colleagues? The clinical paper is usually the second part of the MSRA exam, and is taken after the Professional Dilemma paper (usually after a short break). This is why we’ve released the Medibuddy MSRA Adaptive Question Bank. Our question bank is the only one on the market that uses machine learning algorithms to identify your strengths and weaknesses, ensuring that every minute of your revision is focused on maximising your exam score. You can work through the MSRA practice questions in your own time, allowing you to familiarise yourself with the different question formats and types of scenarios you will encounter in the exam. Each answer option may be selected once, or more, or not at all. For SBAs, candidates must choose the single most appropriate answer out of 5-8 answer options for a clinical presentation. For example, candidates may be presented with a short clinical case and asked to choose the single most appropriate diagnosis. One mark is awarded for each correct answer in the CPS paper.

Please note: currently, all MSRA invitations will be for MSRAs delivered within a Pearson VUE test centre; however, once you receive your invitation, you can apply for a remote test ‘by exception’ if you meet the criteria set to do so. Requests for remote examinations are assessed and approved on a case-by-case basis. You can find out more remote testing for the MSRA here. MSRA Exam Dates 2024
