About this deal

Mixed media: Preserve small items like spices, dried flowers, pressed leaves and tiny shells in liquid clay cabochons, pendants and coasters. Of the many traces of clay reachable today, the flexibility of liquid polymer clay makes it a standout. Incredibly versatile and bakeable, you can use liquid polymer clay for grout in mosaics and window clings. You can additionally put it in bakeable silicone molds to create earrings and domestic decor tasks or elaborations for different clay projects.

I will go into a more comprehensive study on each of the popular liquid clays and the differences in my next tutorial, but here are some of the ones I recommend, the cost, and where to get them: Jewelry pieces: Making earrings, pendants and charms is a breeze with Sculpey® 3D Jewelry, Cabochon and Bezel molds. Our time-saving Jewelry mold has a post included in each shape, so there’s no need to drill holes after creation! In many cases, you’ll squirt some liquid clay into a container, mix it with colour, and apply from there, rather than applying the clay directly to the model.

What's New?

Liquid Polymer Clay is generally known to be used as an adhesive to bond pieces of clay together (wether its raw to raw, baked to baked, or raw to baked) and it’s often used as a way to help condition and soften crumbly clay because liquid clay contains plasticizer. And if you watched my previous video on polymer clay safety, you learn that plasticizer is what holds the clay together, softens it and makes it pliable. Use oven-safe silicone molds to cast multiples of the same shape time and time again! Liquid clay can be poured directly into Sculpey ® Polymer Clay Molds to produce earrings, bezels, pendants, geometric shapes, lace details and more. Here’s how: Alcohol inks: Tint liquid clay with a drop or two of alcohol ink — create see-through blue water effects in dioramas and cast colorful gems! Use a thin plastic or metal tool to stir the formula thoroughly. Avoid adding air bubbles, and make sure you scrape the sides and bottom for an even mix. To adjust the color of liquid clay while maintaining translucence, stir in a few drops of alcohol ink.

As always, make sure you wash your hands before and after each time you work with polymer clay. What are the different types of polymer clay? Liquid clay is a pretty new thing as it was only introduced in the 90s. You can use it as an adhesive for two layers of polymer clay. It usually involves mixing a small amount of liquid clay with shavings from soft pastels to colour it. It can them be used for sauces, icing, drinks, soups, jelly and any other food that has a liquid in it. You won’t commonly see polyester resin used in the craft world as it’s pretty noxious. It’s used similarlyto an epoxy resin, except that you use a large volume of resin (part A) and a small volume of hardener (part B). I’ve not used this since I was a kid and helped my dad repaira fiberglass tank, so I’m only mentioning it here as an FYI. Dimensional Glazes
