About this deal

The outside surface of the cup (the bottom side in the picture, touching the elastic bandage) is placed directly over the wound. As you wrap the elastic around the patient, each pass pushes more pressure down onto the cup, focusing pressure at the “peak” of the cup. You don’t have to change directions or wrap in certain patterns the way you do with other styles. The North American Rescue Emergency Trauma Dressing (ETD) is more commonly seen than the TacMed OLAES, partly due to NAR’s better marketing. The ETD and OLAES are pretty similar — often within a few dollars of each other — and you’d be fine carrying either. We recommend the OLAES over the ETD due to the extra components described above. But the ETD still has the same handy control strips found on the OLAES that prevent the bandage from accidentally unrolling while you’re fumbling around, a nice feature not found on many other products. According to Skinny Medic, if he could only choose one emergency compression bandage to work with, a 6-inch OLAES would be it. Besides being a great cup-style pressure dressing that does the core job well, what sets the OLAES apart is that it can be disassembled into other pieces that may be helpful on their own:

T3 Israeli Bandage : This bandage has all the features of the 6-inch version; however, it comes with a fold-out piece of gauze (for larger wounds), and it also has a separate roll of gauze. Although the medical effectiveness is the same, the major difference between the TacMed and NAR is the physical mechanism for creating pressure. TacMed uses a cup and NAR uses a crescent bar. Why you should trust us The Israeli bandage can directly serve as compression for a sprained ankle, shoulder, or wrist. When you wrap the elastic band around the injured joint, the compression reduces swelling and provides support. Guidance on haemostatic dressing and tourniquet training HSE first aid guidance states that where there is a risk identified in the needs assessment, training in the use of how and when to apply a haemostatic dressing should be given to workplace first aiders. This guidance also recommends nominated first aiders are trained properly in the use of tourniquets where provided as standard in first aid kits, ensuring they are managed safely with the correct positioning and tightening. Super glue works amazing. Zero sting.. Can form a kind of cast over the skin as well to prevent bumps and re opening.elevate. Use gravity to your advantage. Try to get the wound higher than the level of your heart. The blood pressure at the wound will be incrementally less. Helps with clotting. Finally, you can wrap a large Israeli bandage around an abdominal evisceration, protecting the abdominal cavity. Upon immigrating to Israel in 1979, Bernard Bar-Natan was soon drafted into the military in 1983. During his service, he realized that the treatment of injured soldiers on the battlefield could use some serious improvement.

H&H H Bandage: One of the first designs issued to the military. Uses a plastic “H” bar, instead of the crescent or cup styles more commonly found today, which does the best job of creating pressure but is a little more awkward and slow to deploy. That’s why you don’t see as many of these classics around today. Maya was born in Arizona, but moved to Israel when she was three months old. She is a self-taught cook and baker, and has a gorgeous blog, Bazekalim as well as self-publishing her own food magazine. When she invited me over for lunch, she prepared what’s known as Israeli salad in her country; a finely chopped mixture of raw vegetables doused in a lively dressing with a typically Israeli flourish of lots of fresh herbs, chopped and mixed in at the last minute. She also adds toasted seeds and nuts, which gives the salad even more crunch. Store: Keep the salad in the refrigerator for 1-3 days. (You may need to drain excess liquid that will gather in the bottom of your storage container.)Gauze pad: The Israeli bandage has an attached gauze pad - basically, a five-by-nine pad sewn into the elastic band. As a food writer, I’m the one who does most of the cooking around the house. And when I need to hand in three recipes a week, you can imagine the amount of cooking and recipe testing that needs to go on, and respectively, the amount of dishes piling up in the sink. Thankfully, me and my boyfriend reached a very agreeable arrangement: he does all of the dishes in exchange for tasty meals every day. A pressure applicator placed over the wound to stop bleeding by applying pressure. [2] It allows changing the direction of the bandage and wrapping it around the wound once in various directions. It also makes bandaging easier. It is especially useful for stopping bleeding in groin and head injuries. [3] TIP: If you're treating multiple patients or a patient who needs multiple tourniquets, use the dedicated tourniquet (like the SOF or the CAT) for legs and the Israeli bandage for the arms. The legs will require higher pressures to stop arterial bleeds. Well-reviewed pressure dressing with the best mix of nice features, including removable components you can use for other injuries.
