About this deal

In addition to automotive lighting, wedge bases are also used in other applications such as outdoor lighting, commercial lighting, and theatrical lighting. They are a popular choice because of their simplicity, reliability, and versatility. COMPACT FLUORESCENT PLUG IN BASES There is a German national regulation for vehicle bulbs, now superseded by international ECE regulations. Bulbs according to the old German regulation are still manufactured. The German regulation is contained in §22a, Subsection 1, No. 18 of the Straßenverkehrs-Zulassungs-Ordnung (StVZO, Road Traffic Approval Regulation). Per the Fahrzeugteileverordnung (FzTV, Vehicle Parts Regulation), such light bulbs must bear an approval mark consisting of a sine wave and the letter 'K'. The technical requirements themselves are established by standards produced by DIN.

They are commonly used for general lighting in standard light fixtures, such as ceiling lights, lamps, can lights, outdoor spotlight and flood light fixtures, and vanity lights. Notice I said it’s the diameter of the lamp holder and not the bulb’s screw? That’s because the actual screw cap on the bulb is slightly smaller in diameter than the fitting. If they were both exactly the same size then the screw wouldn’t fit! The exact measurements of the screw caps are:The most common type of base is the E type. The E stands for Edison and indicates that the base is a screw type. The size is a simple millimeter measurement of the width. Significant deviations from series production may have an adverse impact on road safety. This will lead to a withdrawal of the Type Approval. In terms of video, the ZV-E1 inherits most of the quality options of the S III, at least those within the speed of its SD slot. So you can film 1080 from 24 to 240p or 4k from 24 to 120p, the latter making it one of the most affordable full-framers with 4k 120p capabilities. The number also doesn't indicate where the device was designed or manufactured. Under ECE and EEC regulations, an item of motor vehicle equipment type approved in any ECE or EEC member country is acceptable for use in any other country that permits or requires vehicles and vehicle components conforming to ECE or EEC safety regulations. In Canada, vehicle headlamps may use light sources (bulbs) conforming to either the US or the international ECE regulations. [8] :108(5)(a) Replaceable Light Sources for Vehicle Headlamps Bulb Type

Intermediate Screw Base (E17) Bulbs are sometimes called Intermediate Edison Screw (IES), “E” stands for “Edison” and “17” indicates the diameter in millimeters as measured across the peaks of the thread on the baseAnd finally the outer edge of the green frame represents what you’ll get with Dynamic SteadyShot, which by my calculations works out at about a 1.44x crop.

On the top left of the ZV-E1 is one of Sony’s Multi Interface Shoes, complete with the extra pins to support digital audio accessories, and to its right is a three capsule internal mic which allows you to switch between patterns.Next I’ve enabled Active SteadyShot which incurs a crop but delivers less wobbles. I always thought Active SteadyShot applied additional digital compensation, but Sony tells me on the full-frame cameras, it’s actually still only using sensor shift, but in a broader range which necessitates a crop.

Further cementing its intended use for video, Sony’s also seen fit to remove the mechanical shutter on the ZV-E1, so unlike the S III, you only have a fully electronic shutter for still photos. Next-up, the new Auto Framing mode which once it recognises a face will digitally zoom-in a little, leaving space around the edges to move the frame left and right to follow you – simulating a camera operator panning a little from side to side. You can adjust the speed, the delays, and the crop size, as well as recording the cropped version to the SD card and output an uncropped version over HDMI or vice versa if desired. The large E39 “mogul” base is used on street lights, and high-wattage lamps (such as a 100/200/300 Watt three-way). Chances are you won’t have a need for these guys. Firstly, what are those numbers that come after the "E" in the circle or the "e" in the box? What makes a lamp marked (E6) [e6] different from a lamp marked (E1) [e1]?
