Previous studies have also suggested blue is associated with positive emotions in some countries ( Adams and Osgood, 1973; Jonauskaite etal., 2020b; Kaya and Epps, 2004; Valdez and Mehrabian, 1994; Wexner, 1954). In addition, a recent study has suggested that gray is more strongly associated with sadness than blue ( Jonauskaite etal., 2020b). Therefore, it is unclear what colors are associated with sadness in human cognition.
