About this deal

Overall, I liked the features, lots of connections, sounds really good to me. I ran it mostly with 55 - 60% volume and it sounded clear, lots of details, base, etc. etc. Connected to the T9 Pro (in standby) it goes to 1.7W, which is OK (but still not the greatest for current days). Windows 10 saw it as "SPDIF Interface" device, rather than USB DAC or something, but it's just label which could be changed in sound settings. When I connect the carousel to a Sony STR-DH790, there were no issues. The DH790 shows the connectivity info on the readout of C20C2./OC44.1kHz. Sony read the following optical output specs to me:

Strong output power and low frequency output: use amp IC TPA3250, each channel can output 100W(4Ω), match perfectly and easily to drive all 3-8Ω passive speakers, adds a low frequency output easy to connect active speakers and build 2.1 channel system, the bass effects is greatly enhanced. Issue #3 (gets HOT!): Another thing that surprised me was how HOT the T9 Pro became after a while (I guess those 11W need to go somewhere). The tubes are the first thing to warm up (but I guess that's expected from a tube), but the whole case gets pretty hot after a couple of hours turned on. I wouldn't say it's burning hot, but it's hot enough to feel a bit uncomfortable if you hold your fingers on top of it or on the sides for a few seconds. Since I don't have any passive speakers yet, I could only test the Aux Output, connected directly to the Presonus' RCA inputs. A: Since power consumption is considered in the design of this machine, Bluetooth does not work when other channels are used. You must switch to Bluetooth input mode to search for pairing. I also have a 24V power supply that I might try later, if I manage to find a compatible connector. I'd expect results to sit in-between the other two).I'd say that combo of the Android TV, no audio Computer monitor, and T9 pro made a great little station. Practical funtions to simplify use: with input selection and indicators, clearly to show the working status in real time; aluminum alloy case is specially designed, cool and unique to decorate your desktop space. DAC A6 uses ESS SABRE ES9038Q2M as decoding. It's widely recognized in the high-fidelity audio industry, providing extraordinary music quality and lower total harmonic distortion (THD) levels, and are the gold standard of audio performance. I still don't understand the hate for EQs. I have few of them and it is hard to beat dialing in things the way I want to listen to them. A Completely Different Business ModelWhy is the same product sold under many different names? Mr Liu’s friend’s factory OEM’s for a lot of people. Perhaps, and I’m not sure, some of them have small design changes, but...More importantly, from what I understand, these brands, Aiyima, Suca, Douk, Nobosound etc, compete as well as cooperate. Some would re-brand something without hesitation (same factory) and use their own sales base. This is pretty unthinkable in the West. Grant you, the products are similar (a testament to the very high level achieved with cheap digitals now) and, if you ask me, there is not much room for breakthrough.

Issue #1 (Bluetooth): at some point I got some weird noises when using bluetooth, but I don't plan on using BT much in the feature, so I didn't spent much time on it. My Presonus also have BT and I think at some point my phone was connected to both, so it might have been some interference between the two. This only happened once out of two times I used bluetooth. One example is apparent on U2 Actung Baby "Zoo Station" I have also experienced it on Rusted Root and especially on a Pusifer CD that is recorded. Editor's Note 2/2/23:Readers may be interested in this newly published Video of the Making of Aiyima T9 Pro. It shows in detail how an Aiyima product is made. Out of curiosity I tested the power consumption and sure enough the device consumes much less power once it goes into this mode so its definitely turning stuff off internally when this happens. For TV optical out connection, it worked when optical out was set to auto. With my other/previous DACs, I always had to set it to PCM.

The Decision Yes, call me superficial. I immediately fell in love with the SEXY (VU) meter! But, unlike some of you, I'd not easily give in! :-) Certainly I have no need for another amp (or so I thought). While the almost universal digital connectivity appeals, what seals the deal for me was the AUX OUT. I wasn't sure whether it is Fixed or Variable, but as some users used it for subwoofer it should be a Variable out. It is, and more on this later.

HiFi clear sound with tone control: resonable circuit and concise wiring, adopts vacuum tubes to soften the sound and filter out the digital feelings, sounds warm and sweet without noise. Also with treble and bass knobs to adjust one's own preferable sound styles, presents HiFi music with rousing highs and deep lows. The Gain Structure Most devices don't give out spec's on the sound output, or at least I have no idea what they are on my 2 laptops. Add to this that the Apps have their own Volumes (and EQ), and it's kind of complicated. You should always experiment with the Device Volume, App Volume and the Volume Control(s) of your equipment. This is why in Round 2 I'd not entirely attribute what I heard to the difference between the Revox and Aiyima. There are too many Gain Controls that one should be cautious. This is akin to some older preamps or integrated amps that have separate Gain and Volume Controls (ARC and MFA come to mind), and many experienced audiophile swear by using both. I assure you, for any final volume, the sonic difference between 1) maxing out the source and attenuating the amp; and 2) maxing out the amp and attenuating the source; is HUGE and beyond pale! Sonic advantages can be had by paying attention to these parameters. In Part I, I am not doing that. The USB of DAC A6 supports DSD512 decoding and PCM decoding from 16bit/44.1 kHz to IJ 32bit/768kHz, which is enough to cover the current mainstream formats and be compatible with higher format formats that may appear in the future. A: If you use a power supply other than the original standard, please replace the power supply before testing. Many power sources on the market have large interference coefficient of the text wave, which will cause a large current sound. As a rule, don't forget to tell me what you use, and what do you think of the sound, and reservations if any!

Out of the box, everything was well. Sound was pretty good. I was impressed. I briefly determined that everything worked properly. As there seemed to be no issues, I was eager to move on from this ad hoc solution. I connected USB to laptop, without tubes or even power connection, and Windows 10 detected it right away. Seems like DAC section is operation even with USB power.
