About this deal

Reinforcing overlay on the elastic Primeknit tongue is improved; has pieces of breaks that allow the Primeknit to stretch width-wise but not necessarily length-wise; good for providing enough midfoot compression and not being too restrictive

Traditional tongue construction the best bit, offering nice, pleasant and distraction-less fit as well as bit enough room for adjustment Flexing mesh on the Pure II doesn’t match the softness of the leather as well as that of the Pure I However, I am genuinely curious to see if this will be a commercial success for adidas. Leather boot enthusiasts are usually in the 30s to 50s age range having experienced great leather boots in their younger days. The three stripes did a bold move in having so little leather in the Copa Sense .1 which clearly shows that they only have Gen Z customers in mind for this. These are players who have only known synthetic boots like the Ace and the X – during a time where leather boots have been seen as passe.

What you really get is a thin layer of leather pressed onto knit and foam which explains how adidas managed to have leather produce a wavy embossed effect all across that upper. We’ve had the Copa Sense .1 on feet Laceless Plus like a child of Copa 20+ and X Speedflow+; skin tight feel with super comfortable forefoot, in addition to the tiptoeiness of a speed boot Lets start with visuals, and I think this is where a lot of players have established their opinion by looking at the outside and not what they have on offer on the inside. Lets be honest, I wouldn’t really blame those that have made a decision based on the visuals. They are a slightly odd looking boot and really aren’t that trendy. It has a lot to do with the wavy patterns on the calf leather upper and sitting along the synthetic midfoot area. They actually kind of remind me of the Under Armour Speedform with their articulated toe box. But overall, they don’t really scream cool or trendy.

Despite this downward trend, brands still keep their line of leather boots within their ranks to point to their storied past and display their long history within the boot category. This explains why adidas still produces the adidas Copa Mundial, one of the legendary leather boots from the 70s. However, it is increasingly difficult to market the Copa Mundial and their leather boots to a generation that has never even experienced a proper leather boot like an adidas Predator from the 90s to early 2000s. The fit is also much improved given the new dynamic of the Fusionskin and triple foam, plus the removal of the Sensepods that really took some time for some to get used to. Speaking of Sensepods, you might need to give the new Copa some time to break-in for you to avoid getting blisters. The Sensepods constantly rub against your heel, so be sure to give it some time to get accustomed to the new sensation. When it comes to width, they offer an accommodating fit. I wore them in my natural size and the length was pretty spot on, if you like a little extra room then I might consider going up a half size. Performance On FootThe Adidas Copa Sense is a juxtaposition of a boot. It feels both steeped in nostalgia and very modern.
