Studding patterns: The correct way to express a studding pattern, either of a wheel or of a hub is an amalgam of the P.C.D and the Stud/Bolt hiles. A five stud fixing is calculated by taking the measurement from the centre of a stud hole to the edge of the centre bore x 2 + the diameter of the centre bore. During the 1960s, '70s, and '80s, the 155HR13 was a popular size, particularly in cars like the Ford Escort, Vauxhall Viva, and Fiat 124. Most cars of that era were equipped with 155R13 tyres. When car models that had previously used 5.60x13 crossply tyres transitioned to radial tyres, the 155HR13 size became common. These paper sizes are known as the untrimmed paper sizes and are most commonly used for commercial printing to allow for bleed on printed products that would then be trimmed to an A series size later in production. RA sizes are known to be 105% of the equivalent A series size and similarly the SRA is 115% of the A series size With anything over A2 being rounded up to the nearest full centimetre and anything under being rounded up to the nearest half centimetre. The RSJs are all produced to BS 4 part 1 BE EN 10025 S355 which is the European Structural Steel standard confirming it has a minimum yield strength (ReH) of 235 MPa at16mm. When refitting a trailers' road wheels it is ESSENTIAL that the wheel nuts/bolts are tightened to the recommended torque figure and in the correct sequence. To neglect this is too run the risk of either the nuts/bolts working loose and the wheel coming off (not tight enough), or damage to and possible shearing of the nut/bolt (over tightened). The tyre size 155R13 is such an important tyre size for classic cars of the 1960s through to the 1980s. Many 1960s classic cars like Fiat 1300, early MK1 Ford Cortina, including Lotus Cortina, Sunbeam Alpine, Triumph Vitesse and Vauxhall Victor left the factory fitted with crossply tyres of the size 560 - 13, which is a crossply tyre which was to be superseded by the radial size 155R13.
