About this deal

Unfortunately, unlimited data only SIMs aren't exactly common place. While you can get a SIM with a lot less data for your tablet or another internet connected device, unlimited data won't be available. EE is a great choice for unlimited data because it offers such a wide selection of unlimited data SIM Only plans. These include various different contract lengths, maximum speeds, and bundled extras, so it’s easy to find an option that’s the perfect fit.

EE offers a variety of unlimited data SIM Only plans, on a choice of 24-month, 12-month, or 1-month plans. Typically, you’ll pay less per month on longer contracts, but of course you’re also committed for longer. All of these plans also come with unlimited minutes and texts. Lebara (which runs off Vodafone’s infrastructure) offers 30-day SIM plans that comewith unlimited 5G data, minutes, and texts. Choose giffgaff’s ‘golden goodybag’ add-on to get unlimited 5G data and free international roaming (although this has a 20GB per month cap limit). Tesco Mobile

We compare a range of SIM only unlimited plans, as well as monthly plans if you want a new phone. Each has a selection of contract lengths to suit your needs: Unlimited data SIMs are available as SIM-only plans, which just include your SIM card and allowances, usually on a 30-day or 12-month plan, or you can get a Pay Monthly plan with a phone included as well, and these usually tie you in for 24 months. Once you know when your contract is finishing and you've got your new deal, you need to decide if you want to keep your number. If so, you can request a PAC code (Porting Authorisation Code) from your old network. This can be done via the phone or through a text.

Unlimited Data Plans : 50GB fair use policy applies outside UK. Personal, non-commercial use only. If you regularly tether 12 or more devices, we will consider this non-personal use and have the right to move you to a more suitable plan. We will consider usage above 600GB/month to be non-personal use and have the right to apply traffic management controls to deprioritise your mobile traffic during busy periods or to move you to a business plan. You can gift up to 100GB. Data usage on an unlimited data plan will be deducted from giftable allowance. Any data boost allowance will be added to the giftable allowance. Free roaming meanwhile is fully capped at 5GB per month on both plans and the only way to use your data beyond Europeis to pay for the roaming data separately.

What our expert says...

Next up there’s an ‘Essentials Unlimited plan’, and these plans cap your speeds at 100Mbps, which is fast but not as fast as 5G can potentially get. The following table shows a side-by-side comparison of unlimited data plans on UK mobile networks: Network Beyond these roaming restrictions there is currently no fair usage policy for unlimited data on Three. Stay Connected Data: If you have a capped data allowance (i.e. not an unlimited data plan) once you have used up your monthly data allowance your speed will be capped at 0.5Mbps. You will regain access to our fastest speeds upon (1) renewal of your monthly plan allowance, (2) by buying one of our data add-ons, or (3) If you are gifted data by someone else in your family account. Once the data add-on or gifted data runs out, you will return to the capped speed. Not available with No Frills plans.

From January 2024 if you have a 3G plan or a 3G device, you’ll no longer be able to access our 3G network, so you won’t be able to access the Internet, use social media or messaging apps, such as WhatsApp, or make or receive video calls with family and friends. You will still be able to make and receive calls and texts on our 2G network. However, O2, Giffgaff, and Lyca Mobile ask you to keep your usage under 650GB per month, while EE wants you to keep it under 600GB. Those limits are high enough that they should hardly affect anyone though. Tethering restrictions
