About this deal

If, however, you’re a traditionalist and think optic yellow screams driving range and is an affront to the game’s sacred traditions, you might want to skip this article. It won’t make you happy. Welcome to The Golf Shop Online, where our passion for golf drives us to provide you with an exceptional shopping experience!

The Srixon Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE is built on the Q-STAR TOUR platform. It’s a three-piece, 72-compression ball with a urethane cover. Only that it’s in two colors. Srixon categorizes the Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE as mid-to-high-launch and, at 72 compression, it definitely registers on the soft side. The longer your alignment line, the easier it can be to line up your putts. And with DIVIDE’s one-of-a-kind seam line running around the entire golf ball, you get 360˚ of alignment so you can putt with perfect aim. SEE YOUR SPIN Getting a 72-compression ball to spin like a firmer Tour-level ball is next to impossible. And making the mid-layer softer isn’t going to help much. Greenside spin comes from a larger delta between a soft thin cover and a firm mid-layer. Srixon has the thinnest urethane covers in the game (Q-STAR Tour’s is 0.5mm, same as the Z-STAR) and Srixon’s unique spin-enhancing SeRM coating will help. But, in this case, spin is relative.Meet the all-new Q-STAR Tour Divide, a golf ball that stands out on the course with its unique 50/50 matte urethane cover. DIVIDE boasts all the drive-boosting, chip-stopping performance of a classic Q-STAR TOUR but comes in a new dual colour construction.

FastLayer Core - The new FastLayer Core offers distance and soft feel without compromise due to a gradual transition from the soft inner core to the firm outer edge. FastLayer Core offers distance and soft feel due to the gradual transition from the soft to firm outer edge

Srixon’s revolutionary Q-Star Tour Divide is the golf ball that every golfer must try.

This new ball is a performer, through and through. Unlike painted golf balls, DIVIDE’s entire thermoplastic urethane cover is infused with bright pigments so that the colour won’t scratch or tear. Plus, that premium urethane adds spin for plenty of control around the greens. Quality is always a priority for us,” Schielke says. “And in development and production, we are ensuring the highest quality and consistency are going into each Q-STAR Tour.” The thing is, Srixon is telling us this FastLayer Core is the softest overall yet used in a Q-STAR Tour. Srixon says the 2022 Q-STAR Tour compression is still 72, the same as the 2020 model. I’m sure that will be one of the first tests we do in Ball Lab. It’s important to note the red and yellow coloring isn’t painted on. The urethane itself is infused with colored pigments so each half of the cover is solid red or solid yellow. A resilient mid-layer increases speed off the tee. And the FastLayer core—which is soft at its centre but gradually becomes firm around its edge—provides the distance, and softer feel you’d expect from a fully-featured tour ball.

I would say keep a lookout for other colors coming later this year,” Schielke says of the Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE. “This is exciting and we think it’s going to appeal to a lot of golfers.” We’ve discussed this with Srixon whenever Q-STAR Tours come up and, to its credit, the company has neither shied away from the results nor has it dismissed them. If the option for Financing or one or more of the monthly terms are not shown, then unfortunately you are not eligible to apply for that finance type at this time. Pay in 3 instalments Meet the all-new Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE, a golf ball that stands out on the course with its unique 50/50 matte urethane cover. DIVIDE boasts all the drive-boosting, chip-stopping performance of a classic Q-STAR TOUR but comes in three exciting colorways. I noticed a slight drop off in distance with driver, woods and mid-irons. However, there was no distance change with full wedges shots which I was pleased about. This ball is designed for lower compression so if your swing speed is moderate to slow this could be a great option. The Q-STAR TOUR ball does have its following. It’s a modestly priced urethane ball so it has that going for it, despite the 2019 version’s performance in Ball Lab. We’ll see with the 2021 version. First off, if you’re a fan of LA’s pro football teams, the Red Sox’ recent City Connect uniforms or the Cub Scouts, you’ll love the yellow/blue Q-STAR DIVIDE. And if you’re fond of adult male Western Tanagers or Lutino Fischer’s Love Birds, then you’ll enjoy the new yellow/orange Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE. For those with a long memory, it’s here we note the 2019 Q-STAR TOUR ball scored, to be kind, not so great in MyGolfSpy’s Ball Lab test last fall. More than one-third of the balls tested were out of round, with 25 percent suffering significant layer concentricity issues. Srixon has plants in both Japan and Indonesia and the Q-STAR TOUR samples we tested were from Indonesia. We haven’t tested the Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE yet. We did test the 2019 Z-STAR last fall and it tested out favorably while the 2021 Z-STAR XV came in as average.

Company number: 1394141; Registered office: Media House, Peterborough Business Park, Lynch Wood, Peterborough PE2 6EA and H Bauer Publishing, The Q-STAR TOUR release cadence says the full line is due for an update by the middle of summer. It would reasonable to assume the DIVIDE is using the most up-to-date core. Three-piece urethane-covered ball that provides premium tech in a model that’s suitable for moderate swing speeds. Uses Tour technologies found in the Z-Star series like FastLayer, Spin Skin with SeRM, and Speed Dimples but with a softer compression (72). 338 dimple reduces drag and improves flight for more distance. Matte balls do tend to hold dirt more so than standard balls but Schielke says Srixon is happy with the durability and looks of the Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE. “All golf balls get dirty but we haven’t seen any problems with this one that stand out.”DegreeAlignment Line - The longer your alignment line, the easier it can be to line up your putts. And with DIVIDE’s one-of-a-kind seam line running around the entire golf ball, you get 360 degreesof alignment so you can putt with perfect aim. Srixon’s only four-piece ball, the XV was updated in 2021 with everything from its molecules to its dimples pushed to the limit. Used by Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama and 2019 Open Champion Shane Lowry, it’s longer than Z-Star thanks to a reformulated inner core boosts overall resiliency for a faster snap off the clubface for more ball speed and distance. The new Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE in yellow/blue will be available starting today in stores and online. The yellow/orange balls will be available starting July 30.
