About this deal

Our product review testing process is fair, consistent and robust. Our Consumer Editor Heidi Scrimgeour came up with a shortlist of lightweight pushchairs based on her product knowledge and industry research. She looked at the latest travel stroller offering from the market-leading brands - and as a mum of three and a parenting journalist for 15 years, what she doesn't know about baby products isn't worth knowing. The best travel stroller for you will depend on your destination and whether it’s hot or cold. If you’re going somewhere warm, a pushchair with mesh fabric for breathability so your child can stay cool is an advantage. In addition, make sure it comes with a sunshade to help prevent sunburn.

The Silver Cross Dune also benefits from a compact, folding carrycot that saves both time and space while on-the-go. With a one-handed release designed to detach from the chassis as effortlessly as possible, the carrycot can be removed with one simple movement in seconds. Paired with the zip-off apron and adjustable bumper bar that makes getting baby in and out a breeze, these design elements are perfect for parents who are often on the go. There are lots of elements of this travel stroller that Grace likes. In particular, she highlighted the reclining seat which you adjust with a toggle. She also commented on the extendable hood, which has a mesh window so you can keep an eye on your baby easily. The Inglesina Quid2 boasts a one-handed folding and unfolding mechanism, which Grace found took practice to perfect. Our Consumer Editor says: Even for a travel stroller, the Chicco Cheerio is light. At 5.6kg, it's easy to lift in and out of a car boot, even if you’re pregnant like our tester Amelia. While she found it ‘so lightweight it can feel a bit out of control on rougher surfaces,’ she did appreciate that this was a trade-off and a sturdier stroller would likely come with added pounds.

Verdict: Overall, Amelia would recommend this as one of the best travel strollers you can buy if you're looking for something very lightweight and incredibly compact for either occasional or travel use. ‘It's pretty simple but what it does, it does well,’ she adds.

Travel + Leisure / Conor Ralph Tips for Buying a Travel Stroller Consider the types of travel strollers This buggy is easy to fold and unfold, although Darryl thinks it's quite long when collapsed and thus probably wouldn’t be allowed in the cabin on a flight. The stroller weighs 5.6kg and feels light and easy to steer. While the Silver Cross Reef benefits from a number of the same standout features as Dune, such as the new and improved Genius™ Harness System and the First-Bed Folding Carrycot, the Silver Cross Reef has a number of complex features unique to this particular model. One of our favourite standout features is Reef’s independent 4-wheel suspension system. Infused contemporary grey, the Silver Cross Dune stroller in Glacier is inspired by the milky grey, teal colours of ice glaciers. Structural and sculptured, this colourway features dark grey/green elements, with a chrome chassis. The ultimate space saver, strollers come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours. From standard umbrella fold to compact stroller options, we have something to suit your needs. Most strollers are recommended for use from 6 months.Other useful features of this stroller include a Velcro rain cover, seat cover, spacious under-seat basket, padded handlebar with a wrist strap, reclining mechanism, and an easy-to-use foot brake. With such a reputation, comes an unparalleled commitment to ensuring Silver Cross continues to adapt and evolve with societal shifts and influences. Now more than ever, it’s paramount for brands to consider their impact on the environment, and Silver Cross are one of many dedicated to creating a greener future for the next generation. This focus on sustainability is evident with the latest Silver Cross Travel Systems, as both the Reef and Dune are inspired by the beauty of our environment. Drawing on natural elements to create sophisticated colourways such as Glacier, Space and Stone. Silver Cross travel systems compatible with a range of car seats, for journeys that are safe and effortless It rolled well on smooth surfaces, though there was some resistance on the carpet and a lot more on the grave. But we were able to push it through, and the stroller is light enough that when the wheels aren't rolling you can still keep moving. It's not the smoothest ride, but passable. The tray came unclasped during the durability test, but there was no actual damage. Overall, the price-to-performance ratio of the Cloud Plus is so good that it's an excellent budget option. The Cloud Plus doesn't fold down quite as small as most every other one we're testing; the shape is somewhere between an umbrella and normal travel stroller. It's very lightweight, which we love, but since it doesn't fold small enough to fit in an overhead bin and doesn't have a strap or handle, it's not as portable as other options.
