About this deal

This corded model provides suction power the same as the top-end premium models from both Shark and Dyson but its an awful lot cheaper. The Stratos did leave a line of flour behind the motor head, where the fins on the roller seemed to funnel the flour without offering enough agitation or suction to lift it all up. This amounted to 4% of the flour on that first pass, although that’s still way above average. It was happily collected by subsequent passes made at a different angle. You can also choose more than one battery if the 30 minutes you get from one full charge isn’t enough for you and it also comes with an optional pet tool if you have stubborn hair that needs dealing with on a regular basis.

Shark claims that it has all the power of a corded vacuum cleaner but in cordless form, and after testing we couldn't agree more. It's got DuoClean which makes switching modes immensely straightforward, and the controls make it easy to see how much battery you have left. To charge, simply lift out the battery on the side of the dust tank and pop it into its charging port. There's a suite of onboard tools which can be used with this vac too, Molly's favourite being the Anti Hair Wrap Power Tool which is great for upholstery and smaller jobs. How we test Shark vacuums

Hard floors are cleaned best when you use a soft roller and carpets are cleaned best with a brush roller. We will break down each of Gtech’s vacuum cleaners so that you can understand what each one is capable of and also the difference between them so that you can make a judgement on which one may be most appropriate for your needs and whether it is worth paying extra for the more expensive model or not.

We were very excited to test the brand new Shark Detect Pro for a few reasons. The first is that it's unbelievably lightweight, at just 2.76kg, so your days of lugging around a heavy vacuum are behind you. One full battery will give you 15-20 minutes of use and it’s not hard on the wrists either weighing just 1.5kg So if you have pets or it’s going to be used very frequently then it might be worth considering the upgrade. If you want a vacuum cleaner that offers the ability to clean above-floor surfaces such as stairs and sofas then you may have to look to Shark as the Gtech AirRam doesn’t come with any accessories and is only suitable for cleaning the floor.

Its basically got all of the things that are great about Shark. Powered lift away , super strong suction power, duo clean floorhead and anti hair wrap. In their bid for constant improvement they have also introduced “powerfins” which are plastic fins that scoop up dirt form deep within carpets and across hard floors for Sharks best ever cleaning performance. First of all, you realise that is hasn’t been working well before you noticed it and so it’s been taking you longer to get the cleaning done and then you have to spend 10 minutes with the scissors chopping it all out. Not nice.

If money is no object then the Dyson Gen5detect remains a superior option, but not to the extent that it’s worth paying almost twice the price. Its battery lasts a bit longer and it comes with a few more bells and whistles, but you’re definitely not getting twice the vacuum. Some of the best value for money within vacuum cleaners as a whole is in corded as they provide the same power as equivalent cordless models but there is no expensive battery to pay for and you can also vacuum for as long as you want because it’s plugged into the wall so the battery will never run out. Duo Clean. All Shark floorhead comes with their Duo Clean technology and that basically means that they come with two rollers instead of one like one most hoovers. Although the Shark IZ420UKT superficially looks like its predecessor, the Shark IZ320UKT, this new model retains the best features of the old cleaner and adds some new ones into the mix.The Shark Stratos Anti Hair Wrap Plus Pet Pro Cordless Vacuum IZ420UKT marks a big change in design and strategy for the vacuum cleaner company, introducing a host of new features, including a new floor head, an Anti-Odour pod and automatic power modes. It’s a triumph of power, features and design. She also loved the portable vacuum cleaner element that is accessible with just the push of a button. This is thanks to Powered Lift-Away which is super handy for using the suite of attachments to refresh upholstery or vacuum skirting boards. I measured the Shark NZ860UKT’s raw power at 268AW, which is a lot for an upright and slightly more powerful than the older NZ850UKT. Cylinder cleaners, such as the Numatic Henry tend to be more powerful, but Shark doesn’t need as much suction power as its floor head does a lot of the work. It takes less than 2 minutes to set it up and it’s good to go. If you are not into tech and you are not interested in LCD displays and you just want something that’s going to keep your floor clean with no fuss then the Gtech is a winner. It also comes with Sharks duo clean technology with a soft roller and a brush roller built into the floorhead for seamless cleaning of both hard floor and carpets.
