RELATED: 12 Best Driving Range Tips To Improve Your Swing And Your Game Does the Orange Whip help a slice? Are you going to miraculously fix your swing with this product overnight? Probably not. There’s no such thing as alchemy in golf despite what some companies will tell you. The Orange Whip will point you in the right direction, and you’re going to have to put work in to groove your swing. However, over time I believe this product can help golfers solve some of the main problems that affect us all. This isn’t one of those training aids that you will use for a season only to watch it break down next season. These are built for endurance and even comes with 2-year warranty! While the compact version is great for indoor use or if you’re a frequent traveler. Plus, the junior version is great for kids or if you want to hone your wedge swing. How does Orange Whip help the golf swing?

It’s a training aid that replaces the head of a golf club with a weighted orange foam ball. The grip, shaft, and head all work together to help you create a more consistent golf swing. Most of his students couldn’t swing in rhythm while maintaining a solid balance throughout the swing. Staying balanced throughout is crucial in hitting it consistent with any club in the bag. The Sklz Gold Flex trainer is a lower-cost version of the Orange Whip. I wasn’t able to test these at the same time (side by side), but my reflection from both is that the Sklz Gold Flex trainer doesn’t match the Orange Whip for feel and balance when swinging. Hundreds of thousands of whips have been sold around the world, and it’s a great story of entrepreneurship. My Testing

The Orange Whip trainer has been voted as the #1 teaching and training aid by LPGA and PGA professionals! If it’s trusted by some of the best players and instructors in the world, it’s probably worth testing out. Whether you are a beginning golfer, a high level amateur, or a professional looking for a competitive advantage, I believe the Orange Whip is a great addition to your arsenal. You will be faster, stronger, and more flexible, all with just a little bit of work every day. Orange Whip Trainer was designed to coordinate your golf swing, improving the swing plane and maintaining stability throughout the swing sequence. Which Size Orange Whip is best? The extra weight has the effect of pulling against your arms as you start your downswing and try to pull down on the club handle. This slows down your arm swing and encourages you to rotate your body towards the target as you start down. Mishits or a wobbly front-end indicate that you need to change your swing to have better harmonization between your arms, upper body, and lower body. Premium Quality/WarrantyThe Orange Whip is aimed at increasing your flexibility through the low-impact stretch caused by the dual weight system on either end of the shaft. You can increase your strength in your core, forearms, and wrists through regular use and high repetitions. As a PGA professional with over 35 years teaching experience, I have continually searched, in vain, for a way of conveying ‘feel’ to my pupils. All of my teaching life I have described in so many ways, and demonstrated – full shoulder rotation, grip pressure, pausing at the top, posture retention, pendulum swinging, swinging V hitting, ‘on plane’ swinging, centered head retention, width etc, etc, in an attempt to give my pupils the correct ‘feel’ for the correct moves appropriate to them. None of my words or pictures have ever fully achieved what the Whip can, and it’s as if after 35 years I have found the missing piece of the jigsaw. It truly is the missing link!

I like to call this sequencing rather than tempo or timing, and when swinging the Orange Whip you really will notice a difference in your sequencing. Will this transfer to hitting a golf ball? The Orange Whip is rather compact and can be used either indoors or outdoors. This video will explain the basics of using the Orange Whip. The same is true of the Orange Whip, and because of the weighted ball on the end, the feeling is amplified. If you swing the Orange Whip out of sequence, it's going to feel like that ball is flailing all over the place and you have absolutely no control. Swinging in the proper sequence will allow you to feel the shaft flex as the load lags down, bringing your downswing “into the slot.” That’s the money move.

Accessories and Fitness Tools

You could argue the Orange Whip does both of the above, but I would suggest the Orange Whip focuses on the latter. When you swing the Orange Whip the extra weight and flexible shaft alter the forces applied to your body.

The Orange Whip does indirectly help many golfers shallow their swing plane. Using less arms and more body rotation early in your downswing will flatten your swing plane. Does Orange Whip increase swing speed? The Orange Whip aid makes it easy to practice this move as the club is counterweighted. Take the club away like you would on your normal swing and really try to exaggerate the ‘L’ shape with your arms and the club. As you make your downswing, unhinge and release through impact to create power. Then on your follow-through you will hinge again into an ‘L’ shape. As you become more proficient, you can start to make bigger swings like chest high, and then shoulder higher, until you finally progress to a full swing. This won’t take long. You should be able to make full swings with confidence by the end of your first training session, we simply want to minimize the risk of injury. There are two keys to the golf swing that play an essential role to becoming a consistent ball striker; rhythm and balance. Speaking in very basic terms, rhythm - also known as sequencing - is the cause of the effect that is balance. If you have good rhythm, chances are you have good balance, and vice versa. The original version is a longer training tool and has a regular sized grip on it. This is perfect for the majority of players.

It’s also highly rated but seems to be more used for warming up than mastering your tempo. If you like the idea of the Orange Whip but don’t want to spend this much on a training aid, this is a good option. Jim started building prototypes in his home, and using them with his students. His goal was to recreate this rhythm through the use of a flexible shaft that was counterbalanced with a weight at the end of it. He knew if used properly his product would help golfers feel the tempo he was looking to recreate.
