About this deal

At this price/ mono is all you can expect, and it is focused on clear voice. It is too tinny for most music genres.

The maximum volume is 80dB (average). It has no low- or mid-bass, very little high-bass, and recessed treble, making this a Mid sound signature: (bass recessed, mid-boosted, treble recessed) – for clear voice. The battery life on the OPPO A17 comfortably saw me through two days of use with at least seven to eight hours of screen on time, with one 3-day stretch offering upwards of 11 hours of screen on time across that period.

The ultra-slim retro design of the OPPO A17 comes with a flat-shaped middle part and rounded sides, which makes the user feel extra convenient. The rounded sides are extremely user-friendly, and the flat middle part helps in providing maximum coverage. The smartphone also has an extremely light weight of only 189 g, making the user feel as if they are carrying nothing. In other words, the design and display of A17 are undoubtedly 10/10. Extraordinary Camera

The OPPO AI Camera array, consisting of the 50MP main sensor with 2MP depth sensor on the rear and a 5MP selfie-cam on the front. There’s options for portrait shooting and low-light photography. using the combo on the rear, with the front camera offering a Fill Light option which lights up the screen if you need a little more light. The OPPO A17 definitely isn't the right call if you're interested in mobile gaming. While Vampire Survivors ran smoothly enough, firing up Marvel Snap resulted in a stuttery experience. Installing more demanding games like Diablo Immortal is entirely out of the question. It is slow. Apps can take seconds to open, and the Geekbench single/multi-core score is 171/1037 (we feel a usable phone starts around 500/1500). In the camera department, the Oppo A17 features a 50MP primary camera on the rear with an f/2.2 aperture, which captures decent photos in well-lit conditions. However, it may struggle in low-light situations. For selfies, there’s a 5MP front-facing camera with an f/2.4 aperture, suitable for casual selfie enthusiasts and video calls. It offers various camera features and modes to enhance your photography experience. Storage and Connectivity Overall, it’s not a performance focused phone, but it does run apps and games well once they’re loaded into memory. It’s more suited to running one app at a time, so if that’s your plan this is a decent option.

All are fit for purpose. Wi-Fi is a maximum of 433Mbps, keeping the 5GHz signal to 10m from the router. Throttling loses 9% of its power under load over 15 minutes with a maximum of 96,375 GIPS, an average of 91,363 and a minimum of 72,292. It is not a powerhouse – a reasonable SD4XX processor has closer to 150,000 GIPS. Comms Wi-Fi 5 AC, BT 5.0 but no NFC – Passable No USB-C. While the OPPO A17 has a generous battery, it's let down by its micro USB connector. On top of being all but defunct as a standard, micro USB results in long charge times; expect up to three hours to entirely top up the OPPO A17. While this doesn't matter if you normally recharge your phone overnight, it's a sharp contrast to the fast charging tech OPPO often touts across its devices. Under the hood the Oppo A17 has a lot to offer in both the hardware and software sides including a 50-megapixel AI main camera and a 5-megapixel front camera which can deliver stunning photos and videos. The Oppo A17 is running ColorOS 12.1 which includes translation with Google Lens to translate text in screenshots into more than 100 supported languages.MediaTek modems generally don’t find more than the closest tower – this is no different. If you want better phone coverage, look for Qualcomm-equipped phones. Battery – suitable for a day or two – Pass+ OPPO A17 is powered with Octa core (2.3 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53 + 1.8 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53) MediaTek Helio G35 processor so that you can enjoy a seamless performance while accessing multiple applications at the same time. Also, the phone comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB inbuilt storage so that you can store various files like songs, videos, games and more without worrying about space constraints. Besides, the OPPO A17 runs Android v12 operating system and houses a decent 5000 mAh battery that lets you use it for a longer time duration while watching movies, listening to songs, playing games and doing other stuff without worrying about battery drainage. OPPO is now #2 in Australia for Android smartphone market share. It has achieved that through excellent product and after-sales service.
