Brenda – a girl who joins Thomas and the Gladers in The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure (feisty, smart, fearless) As Thomas's character stumbles upon more and more unbelievable clues, like the moving walls of the maze actually form patterns of letters (that Thomas will eventually and conveniently know what to do with after experiencing the Changing himself), the book loses its momentum significantly. The lead character goes from being a pretty smart, brave guy, becoming a leader despite himself, to being the equivalent of the blonde girl asking "who's there?" at the beginning of every horror movie.

In its defense, though, I was still affected by what happens near the end. I would recommend the book - with some hesitation - for younger readers or those who are new to YA dystopian fiction. We don't know what we're dealing with Isaac. We grew up in a happy little bubble on a fairy island. We have no idea how the real world works.." Overall, The Maze Runner has some very solid, interesting science fiction concepts, but there were too many underdeveloped characters. Oh and I still didn’t see the third movie so I might even be able to finish the series and watch the last movie knowing it all! *lol* YAY! Maze Runner really reminded me of Skyward by Brandon Sanderson because it also had a lot of made-up swear words. These words came across as cheesy and a bit awkward.

What famous scientist was Minho named after? Okay, I just googled that and apparently Dashner “purposely” named a few characters after scientists who will supposedly exist in the future. Like the only Asian kid in the book. Because there are no Asian scientists today that he could name someone after. *facedesk* And like Zart. I'm SO happy that I loved this book the way I did, because it's been soo long since I've completely and utterly enjoyed a book! I'm not going to delve into any plot points, because there would be an incredible amount to cover. The idea itself of the trilogy I thought was awesome - for a dystopian novel it's pretty unique although the storyline and plot twists of the first book were all very predictable. In fact, I found that I was riveted only when I got to the second and third book. I read both in two days, and literally could not put them down.
