It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Allen Grimbleby who passed at Princess Diana Hospital in Grimsby on Thursday 2nd June, aged 61 years. Robert will be sorely missed by his wife and his mum, and all the family, his colleagues at New Holland Bulk, his friends and the small ferocious heir to his estate, Piddles Grimbleby III. Jean Hanson Joanna Stallard was chosen as the Welsh Labour candidate for Dwyfor Meirionnydd. She works for global insights platform Atheneum as a talent acquisition manager. She was previously a parliamentary researcher for former MP Susan Elan Jones. East Dunbartonshire Ashley Dalton has been selected as the Labour candidate for the West Lancashire by-election, triggered by Rosie Cooper’s decision to resign as MP. Dalton has worked for many years within local government, including spending 17 years working in various roles for Southend-on-Sea council. She is currently a trainer with the Labour Women’s Network. Wimbledon Dan Tomlinson has been selected as the next Labour candidate for Chipping Barnet. He is a principal policy adviser at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. He was formerly a councillor in Tower Hamlets. Cities of London and WestminsterSatvir Kaur was selected by members in Southampton Test. Kaur currently serves as leader of Southampton council, representing Shirley ward on the council. St Helens North Zubir Ahmed has been selected as the candidate for Glasgow South West at the next election. Ahmed is a surgeon who previously stood for election as the MSP for Glasgow Pollok in 2021, coming in second behind the SNP candidate. He previously worked as a senior public affairs adviser for the Confederation of British Industry and, prior to that, as a parliamentary researcher for Wes Streeting from 2019 to 2020. The closures will affect Grant Street, Station Road, Alexandra Road, High Cliff Road and Kings Road, as well as all roads leading on to that stretch. The temporary closures will be lifted as soon as practical and safe, but some roads are remaining closed for the duration of the weekend.
