About this deal

Chambers was an extremely smart and gifted student in primary and secondary school. Her best subject was English. For reasons unknown, Chambers grades began to plummet. When she was eleven, she states that “things began to deteriorate.” After a few years, her academic life became so stark that she decided to leave her secondary school. I won't give anything away at all because this compelling novel deserves to be read and judged on its own merits, without any spoilers, but seriously it was just awesome! At the core of this novel is the relationship between Jason and Melissa. To some degree they need each other, and we get to know both of them equally well, but it’s Jason who remains the primary interest for the reader, and I now feel as if I'm leaving behind people that I’ve come to know really well, such is the author’s talent in literally giving them life. So I bet you are all wondering what I thought then?!... Well I must admit I was nervous because after reading the Butlers and the characters becoming part of my life I really didn't know what to expect. BUT I am happy to report that Kimberly has pulled out all the punches and totally nailed it! Kimberley Chambers: My friends were married to villains". Metro. 24 November 2009 . Retrieved 18 June 2018.

The morning after the story had finished was the morning I moved. I got up. I got washed. I sat in a chair. I should warn those of a nervous disposition there is a very upsetting scene involving a child, but those use to the authors work know she keeps her books ‘real’ and that includes subjects that are often difficult to read about.Kimberly Chambers is one of those rare authors who has a gift for creating colourful characters, that are larger than life, you feel you know them inside out, and despite their flaws a small part of you can’t help but fall in love with everyone of the Bonds, even the ‘not rights’. it’s a testament to the authors writing that she can make you laugh and cry at their antics, love and hate them, all in the space of a few minutes! With her mother dead and father in prison, Frankie Mitchell goes to live with her fiancé Jed O’Hara. When her daughter is born, her fiancé’s mother becomes domineering and overbearing. Meanwhile, Frankie ignores the rumors that her beloved fiancé is cheating on her. It was then that she received a phone-call from her friend Hazel, who asked if she wanted to take a hair dressing course. It was then that Chambers decided to try her hand at writing a novel. A few days later, she began writing her premiere novel Billie Jo. When she told her family about her new aspirations, they believed that it was a fad and that she would grow tired of this new venture as well. The gifted novelist only has nine books, but her impact on London and around the world has been huge. Chambers has a three book series: The Traitor Chambers, Victim and The Feud. The series revolves around a long time feud between two families; the Mitchells and the O’Haras. The wonderful thing about reading Kimberley’s books is the sheer speed at which you are catapulted into the character’s world. From the moment I read the prologue, my heart was in my mouth as I raced through this book. I had reservations KC could not match the high caliber of her previous books, but bloody hell I was wrong. Not only has she wrote another blinding book, but she has surpassed herself. I lay, for the next 3 days listening about Kenny Bond and his wife, about the twins, and their mum (poor cow) the travellers, the marchioness disaster and the onset of that terrible drug ecstacy which I remembered so well.

Probably the first thing to note is that this book is gritty realism at its best and that includes swearing and violence. If this isn't something you particularly like then maybe this isn't the book for you. Having said that, it's not something that bothers me and I think it adds to the realism of the characters and setting. No one, and I repeat, no one, in this novel appears to be straight. The whole cast are crooked, criminals, “chancers” if you life – all committing some form of deception and involved in a type of illegal activity. And if they don’t fall into this category, then they are off performing adultery: none of the characters appear to have a loyal bone in their body. Frustratingly, the females all fall under the male spell and are forever weak and in need of “saving” – sexually or physically. All in all, it felt so dated and cliched that this was one of the main reasons that the novel lost my interest. (This book was published last year, so I can only imagine that the retroactive attitudes are supposed to reflect Melissa’s traditional upbringing?) It is true to life, I think. This book is how I picture how the East End was in the 70s, 80s and 90s. The language used in the book is true to life and there is no holds barred. I especially loved the relationship between Maureen and her mother-in-law, Ethel. Ethel was written as a stereotypical East End nan - racist, crass and not afraid to speak her mind.Dragged up on a council estate, Jason Rampling was determined to change his lot. Jason’s a chancer, shameless with his good looks and his gift for earning a few quid. Life is easy when the money rolls in. Anyways, Debbie was one of the main characters. And she was like "Look, Mum, there's no easy way for me to say this. You're gonna go mental, so I'm just gonna give it to you straight. I'm pregnant." That's how the story begins. So I didn't wanna put the book down. Kimberly offers us up a good old fashioned geezer then reminds us “men are like dogs, if they ain’t trained they’ll shit all over the carpet” Kenny bond is The Family Man, we meet him banged up in wormwood scrubs, with devoted wife Sharon’s car knowing the route there and never missing a visit. Son Donnie who’s just starting out dating tansy a coppers daughter. That’s not going to go down well…. Daughter sherrie, and of course we meet Kenny’s mates, his mother and aunt, his in-laws. And as we’d expect outlaws, not rights and shit cunts.

This book starts by introducing us to Debbie at a young age when she first meets Billy and we get to see just how destructive he is on her life. When she falls pregnant she decides that although young she wants to make a go of it with both Billy and the baby. I admit that although Debbie is the centre of the story I didn't really warm to her that much. By the middle of the book I wanted to strangle her for her stupidity, and by the end of it I hadn't made my mind up what sort of a person she was. The fact that I got so irritate by her can in my opinion only be a sign of good writing on the author's behalf. Iki dabar nebuvau skaičiusi dar nei vienos šios autorės knygos. Nusprendžiau, jog dabar yra tinkamas metas pažinčiai. Tikrai sudomino šio psichologinio trilerio anotacija, tad nieko nelaukdama ėmiau skaityti 📖 If you loved the Mitchell’s and the butlers, wait til you meet the bonds. I seriously can’t wait to see what they bring us next.

The Feud

Then along comes a family that stand and face the Bond family head on, will Kenny do what’s required to protect his family at all costs?
