About this deal

In the Line of Duty: I - IV Blu-ray offers solid video and great audio in this fan-pleasing Blu-ray release

On March 20, 2023, Eureka will be releasing the Blu-ray (Region B) for In the Line of Duty III, a 1988 Hong Kong actioner directed by Arthur Wong ( Ulterior Motive) and Brandy Yuen ( Three Against the World). Eureka Entertainment have over the years have impressed with their vast collection of Martial Arts titles. That trend is about to continue in March with the release of the third and fourth instalments of In The Line Of Duty III and In The Line Of Duty IV. To be honest, I was a great deal nervous about this release since the new 2K restoration was performed by Fortune Star and not Eureka Entertainment themselves. Fortune Star used to release some upscaled SD masters on Blu-ray in the early 2010s, although their masters have greatly increased in quality since then. And this new 1080p AVC-encoded presentation is indicative of that growth, thankfully. This is a really nice and clean presentation, with film grain being a bit lighter than anticipated, although the levels change during optical effects and the title sequence.FILMS PROUDLY PRESENTS THE FIRST FOUR FILMS IN THE "IN THE LINE OF DUTY" (皇家師姐) SERIES OF "GIRLS WITH GUNS" FILMS PRODUCED BY HONG KONG MOVIE STUDIO D & B FILMS IN THIS COLLECTIBLE 4-DISC BLU-RAY BOX SET!

The International Export Version of Yes, Madam!is also included in this set and reportedly sourced from another 2K restoration. The quality is very much the same as the Theatrical Cut, although it does tend to look a bit softer in certain sequences.” 4/5 In the Line of Duty III is barely a franchise entry, but for me it betters its two predecessors. Yes Madam’s action is better overall, but the pacing and tonal balance is much stronger here, and Michiko Nishiwaki just pushes this entry to the top of the pile for me. Action superstar Donnie Yen and Cynthia Khan team up with legendary martial-arts director Yuen Woo-ping in this fan-favourite fourth entry in the In the Line of Duty film series. Today’s Deal on Fire is the Blu-ray Collection (Region A) for the In the Line of Duty Series, which includes 1985’s Yes, Madam!, 1986’s Royal Warriors, 1988’s In the Line of Duty 3 and 1989’s In the Line of Duty 4. Now, In the Line of Duty IV, talk about finding your footing again four entries into a loosely connected film series. Yeun Woo-Ping, a hugely talented filmmaker and stunt coordinator, gets the helm in this story of Cynthia Khan in Seattle after some drug smugglers, and this time Donnie Yen is here and plays a hotheaded cop with a sadistic bloodlust. The humor that usually shows up is replaced with adrenaline-fueled action in nearly every other scene, constantly keeping the audience on their toes and not paying attention to the somewhat-thin storyline underneath. And at 95 minutes, it’s all very economical and respectful of the audience’s time. 4/5Royal Warriors or Yes Madam is defined as the "first" film, and whether or not all four are indeed a traditional "series", the first two David Chung Chi-Man’s Royal Warriors (aka In the line of Duty) stars Michelle Yeoh ( Boss Level), Sanada Hiroyuki ( Ringu), Michael Wong ( Triple Threat), Michael Chan Wai Man ( Bloody Brotherhood) and Kenneth Tsang ( Chasing the Dragon). The overall image for the film looks very organic, with a natural layer of grain and exceptional detail, depth of field, and nuanced shadows. The contrast is superb even given the often desaturated and dim look given to the film overall. Some of the night scenes present stark contrasts, vivid neon signs of Hong Kong, and clean shadows without a lot of elevated noise or graininess. The Audio

Ska Martes on The White Storm 3: Heaven or Hell (2023) Review I really tried to like this one because the first White Storm was an acceptab… How do you top the first two In The Line of Duty films? Easy... bigger explosions, wilder fights and even crazier stunts! This time, two Japanese thieves have fled to Hong Kong with a tough J-cop (Cynthia Khan, Blade of Fury) hot on their heels. It's up to Hong Kong's finest to stop the villains before too much damage is done!

Cynthia Khan breaks out as a compelling action star taking the reins from Michelle Yeoh in this fast-pace third entry. In the Line of Duty III looks great and is one of the better sequels around. Highly recommended. Both action films will be individual releases as part of the Eureka Classics range in their UK debuts on Blu-ray presented from brand new 2K restorations.
