He gives her an ultimatum to give him five hundred thousand dollars and find a list that she was not familiar with or she would not ever see the child. Publication Order of Rune Books

This is a tense and exciting addition to Jeffery Deaver's crime thriller series featuring the reward hunter, Colt Shaw, raised by his late survivalist professor father, Ashton, with his family, mother, Mary Dove, sister Dorian and brother Russell. He travels the country in his Winnebago home, with his unique specialist skills and approach, which includes assigning probabilities to any possibilities which serves him well. Here, he finds himself in the midwest at a once prosperous industrial town, Ferrington, with its toxic river, hired by Marty Harmon, CEO of Welbourne and Sons to retrieve stolen valuable miniature portable nuclear technology. When the irreplaceable senior nuclear engineer, 42 year Allison Parker, goes on the run from her abusive husband, a decorated former FPD detective, Jon Merritt, released early from prison after being convicted of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, Harmon asks Shaw to find and protect her. This is a high-stakes, life-and-death chess match between multiple individuals, each with the skills and abilities to outwit the others. And, in quintessential Deaver style, full of twists and turns. I also enjoyed the ending, which is the place where many otherwise good books lose me. The only aspect that I found questionable the dangers of the safety of the small modular reactor. I will chalk this up to some stretching of the facts required to make the story flow and not a fatal flaw. Otherwise, I enjoyed how Shaw always prepared no matter what happens. Yes, I know that the author wrote it that way, but I still enjoyed Shaw’s ingenuity. I enjoyed how the author kept the tension and suspense at an ever-increasing level. At the end, the author revealed a possible clue to a future novel in an off-hand remark.

This movie was adapted from the Jeffery Deaver novel The Bone Collector and did very well in theatres as well. A second book named A Maiden’s Grave was made into an HBO film renamed to Dead Silence, with James Garner and Marlee Matlin in the leading roles. Hunting Time” is the fourth installment in Jeffery Deaver’s Colter Shaw series, and it delivers an exhilarating and suspenseful reading experience. Although I have only read one other book in the series and some of the author’s other works, I found “Hunting Time” to be a captivating standalone novel. Set in Ferrington, a once-prosperous industrial town in the American Midwest, the story follows Colter Shaw, a reward seeker and survivalist, who is hired by Marty Harmon, CEO of Welbourne and Sons, to find Allison Parker. Allison, a senior nuclear engineer and a mother on the run with her daughter Hannah, is being pursued by her abusive ex-husband, Jon Merritt, a decorated former police detective recently released from prison. The most richly accomplished of the brothers’ pairings to date—and given Connelly’s high standards, that’s saying a lot. Deaver`s reputation as a master of the corkscrewing plot is well earned... Colter Shaw seems certain to become an enduring series lead. Booklist It’s when the milieu moves from the urban to the wilderness that Shaw’s survival skills, learnt from his father Ashton, come to the fore. Plus, of course, no Deaver novel would be complete without its totally out of the blue plot twist, and the one delivered about three quarters the way through this novel is one of the best. It totally blows all one’s earlier preconceptions out of the water.A tasty, if not always tasteful, tale of supernatural mayhem that fans of King and Crichton alike will enjoy. In "Hunting Time," Jeffery Deaver delivers yet another heart-pounding thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. This New York Times bestselling author proves once again why he is a master of suspense, as he weaves a complex web of deception, survival, and unexpected twists. The star of this novel is once again Colter Shaw. Here in the longer format, Deaver’s protagonist is allowed to grow and evolve before our eyes in what is the fourth outing of this unique character.

this time with new star character Colter Shaw. No one in the world does this kind of thing better than Deaver` Lee Child Gripping and ingenious tale of greed and deception in the American wilderness The Times Thriller of the Month That's the start of an exciting and engrossing story as hunted and hunters play cat and mouse with lives at stake. Movie One: The Bone Collector

This is book 4 in the Colter Shaw series and although I’ve read this author before I hadn’t read any of this series and this read well as a stand-alone. Shaw finds himself in Ferrington in the America Midwest in this fast paced full of thrills read. Brilliantly written with a twisty plotline, the author leading you down a road only to find it’s another clever red herring. But Colter’s focus is re-set when the company’s chief designer, Allison Parker, subsequently goes missing - on the run from her violent husband who has just been released from jail and is threatening to kill her. The company is based in a Midwest Rust Belt town that’s seen better days. The river running through the town is badly polluted and frankly this place seems like just the sort of dump anyone would run away from! But her knowledge and skills are considered irreplaceable and the owner of the company is therefore willing to spend whatever it takes to find her and keep her safe. So, as her husband and a couple of trigger happy thugs go on the chase Colter is searching too, desperately hoping that he’ll get to her first. But hang on a minute… this is a Jeffery Deaver novel, so everything won’t be quite as you expect it to be. The Bone Collector is a chilling story of a police officer, Lincoln Rhyme, working with a female officer to find a killer before he kills again. Rhyme is a quadriplegic working with intelligence and experience as he cannot physically review the crime scenes.

While some readers may find the complexity of the plot and the abundance of twists overwhelming at times, those who enjoy thrillers with intricate narratives will find "Hunting Time" to be a satisfying and rewarding read. The finale is a masterstroke, leaving readers stunned and eager for more. She is the chief designer and developer of a new miniature reactor that offers hope for fuel economy into the future. Prejudice and idiotic ideas—about race, AIDS, Covid, STDs—only exist in the vacuum of ignorance. Give people energy, and they’ll have not only lighting, but enlightenment.” The Coffin Dancer is a story about a narcissistic serial killer that has unbelievably flown under the radar of the police for quite some time. The killer was employed to take care of three witnesses before they testify in front of the grand jury, for a case they obviously knew something that would help the prosecutor win the conviction.

Hunting Time

Officer Rhyme’s works to locate the identity of the serial killer, so that the case can go to trial and end in a conviction. Jeffery Deaver is a world renowned author and contributor to the literary world. His chilling and thrilling writing speaks for itself. The quality and clarity of his presentations are paramount and as some have been adapted to a cinematic experience. No sooner has Shaw sorted that problem out, Harmon asks him to locate another employee who has gone missing. Allison Parker and her daughter Hannah are on the run following the release from prison of her violent husband Jon Merritt, who has vowed to kill them both. Allison is a brilliant engineer who uses all her skills to evade detection. But can Shaw find her before Merritt or the two thugs he’s hired? Lightning-fast and loaded with twists, The Never Game is a thrill a minute from one of the best. Don`t miss it` Harlan Coben
