About this deal

HP is of course a veteran of putting together solid electronic devices, and the Omen 27i has the build quality and polish that you would expect: it's a really well made gaming monitor, and would suit those looking for something that isn't quite as flashy or as dominating (or as expensive) as a lot of its competitors. There's no doubt at this price and at this size, the HP Omen 27i is one of the best gaming monitors around. For as long as we were using it, and for whatever purpose we put it to, the display shone in terms of its contrast and colours, so much so that we didn't notice the absence of HDR (though that is a point against the screen). Approximate height of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the height is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. I’m very happy I took the plunge. This monitor is brilliant. There are a few things that annoy me about it, and I’ll get into those a little later. Overall, though, it’s everything I could have asked for.

Design is always a subjective call, but we quite like the angular, curve-free look of the Omen 27i monitor, and we think that a lot of other people will as well. The device is simple to configure and easy to set up, and the majority of users are going to do just fine using the calibration settings that the display has out of the box. Approximate width of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the width is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. Approximate diagonal size of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the diagonal is calculated from the width and height of the screen.Information about the maximum vertical viewing angle, within which the image on the screen is of acceptable quality. The supported VRR range is 48-165Hz over DisplayPort for AMD/NVIDIA cards and 48-144Hz over HDMI for AMD cards.

Windows instantly recognized the Omen 27i’s 165 Hz refresh and G-Sync Compatibility. No changes were necessary in the Nvidia Control panel. FreeSync also worked right off the bat when we hooked the monitor up to our AMD-based gaming PC. The HP Omen 27i input lag amounts to just ~3ms, which makes for imperceptible delay between your actions and the result you see on the screen. Power supply and consumption Information about the power supply and consumption, energy efficiency class, etc. 220V Size class of the display as declared by the manufacturer. Often this is the rounded value of the actual size of the diagonal in inches. The percentage of the approximate area, taken by the active part of the screen, to the total front area. If you are using a variable refresh rate (VRR), be it AMD FreeSync or NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, and your frame rate is fluctuating a lot, the Level 1 setting provides more consistent performance across the entire refresh rate range since it still looks very good at 165Hz/FPS. We only wish it had an sRGB emulation mode – if it did, we are sure it’d be a much stronger rival to the more popular LG 27GP850 thanks to its attractive design. Specifications Screen Size

If you have an AMD graphics card, you can clamp the gamut via the Radeon software, but this feature isn’t available for NVIDIA GPUs.Information of the number of pixels in a unit of length. With the decrease of the display size and the increase of its resolution, the pixel density increases. Information about whether the stand can be dismounted. Usually, this is required for wall mounting. First, the Omen 27i occasionally forgets settings I’ve chosen, like my preferred color profile, response time and refresh rate. I have found that HP’s Omen Command Center app greatly helps in this regard. Ever since I registered my preferences in the app, my experience with the monitor has been far more consistent. But every now and then, I'll need to remind the Omen 27i again, after it resets itself to a state as if it had just been taken out of the box. Besides, a monitor shouldn’t require the use of a desktop app to preserve settings at all. All performance specifications represent the typical specifications provided by HP's component manufacturers; actual performance may vary either higher or lower. The HP Omen 27i monitor is certified as G-SYNC Compatible by NVIDIA, so you can expect flawless VRR performance up to 165FPS.
