About this deal

I also love how much healthier my hair is from using henna. I have thin curly hair, and henna did mellow out the curl a bit, but not in a bad way. Frizz is maintained (a big issue for me) and split ends are less frequent. I never thought I could grow my hair much past my shoulders, but since I’ve made the switch from chemical dye to henna, my hair is stronger, breaks less often, and is able to grow. I can’t stop touching it! (But should. Hah!)

Do your best to avoid getting henna on the sections that you’re not working on at the moment. Henna can tangle your hair very easily, which may make it harder to work with the other sections later.

Put oil, skin cream or Vaseline on the skin along the hairline and atop ears to avoid staining skin.

If you’ve dyed your hair with peroxide within a month, be aware that some henna products can effect colour negatively! Overall I’ve had great results with beautiful color. Hopefully once my hair is healthier the color with hold more. My color hasnt even finished oxidizing yet and I’m already IN LOVE!!!! my hair is a sparkly, gorgeous ruby. If you are looking for a deep, true red, then this is it. No more orange!!! Apply the henna to each section of your hair. You want to really saturate the hair with the henna mixture, so don’t be afraid of applying too much. [11] X Research source Take your time to ensure that you cover every strand with the henna too.

How you do it

If you want incredible amazing hair that has a gorgeous color you can’t get anywhere else use this product. I am sure all the other colors are great as well. That is how sold I am on this. I wish I could upload a picture. more happy with the outcome and I have had more compliments on my hair than ever before for a fraction of the cost. No one believes I did not get it professionally done. The best part is how healthy and vibrant my hair itself is. I’m a Henna Color Lab convert for life 🙂 I’m not going to lie, this is an absolute pain in the ass, and seems to take forever. Lush recently changed the formula of their henna hair dye to make it a little softer, but having to prepare it is still a faff I could definitely do without, and one of the biggest disadvantages of it, as far as I’m concerned. Henna comes in many shades from brown tones to strawberry blonde tones. You may need to try out different shades to find your desired hue. Additionally, dying the beard using henna is considered sunnah in Islamic tradition – practices of the Islamic prophet Muhammad that are used as a model for Muslims to follow.

The henna colour was most noticeable when I had my hair out and stood in the sunlight. As you can see in the above images, when my hair was tied up, the red colour wasn’t as visible. Henna Red Hair DyeIf you’re hair is really bright and orange the first day after dyeing it, don’t worry, that’s normal. Like I said, it takes around three days for the true colour of henna to come through and during that time it will deepen. Unlike conventional hair dyes, henna doesn’t fade. You just need to touch up the roots of your hair as it grows out. Blow drying really does help the color develop faster! I never blow dry my hair, except immediately after hennaing it. It makes a big difference. Take me, for instance. As a child, my hair was a bright, vibrant red – the kind of colour people would stop me in the street to comment on. ( Not always favourably, of course, but what can you do?) Now, on the other hand? Now it’s faded to a washed-out strawberry blonde, seen here shortly before I discovered Lush Henna Hair Dye: Get comfy: I usually let my henna sit in for three hours. Some people do one, some do four — it depends on how deep you want to shade to be. Directions: Mix henna with warm to hot distilled water and allow to sit 3-4 hours for dye release. Prewash your hair with one of our hair washes or shampoo bars. Apply onto damp hair strands and allow to remain in your hair for 3-4 hours for a full color treatment and to cover grey hairs. When doing a henna hair strengthening mask leave in hair 1-2 hours. Use a heat cap if you would like to cut the time it stays in your hair in half. Rinse out with our cleansing cowash then moisturize, dry and style as usual for best results.

I love this henna’s color! After my first application the color truly looked like a nice, dark cherry shade. I was expecting that color already, but it was better than I expected! Of course, the color did fade after a few weeks, but it lasted much longer than I expected! And my hair was still a nice red shade after over a month, albeit it wasn’t as bold as when I first dyed it. To get this into a form which you can use to dye your hair, you have to first of all turn it into a powder, which I do by grating it (Yes, with a cheese grater…):

Rewards For Life

Hairdressers hate it. I’ve personally used chemical dyes over henna without any issues, but that only applies to PURE henna, with absolutely no artificial additives. A lot of hairdressers won’t touch hair that’s previously been dyed with henna, purely because they have no way of knowing how it will react to the dye, so if you think you might want to use regular dye in the future, you’re going to have to tread very carefully. Probably not, to be honest. Although I like the result I get on the lengths with Caca Rouge (and LOVE the fact that it doesn’t damage my hair), the neon orange temples is a deal-breaker for me, and as none of the other shades have worked out for me, I’ve had to conclude that this one just isn’t for me, unfortunately. I let the henna sit on my hair for ten hours (as my hair is quite dark, I wanted to make sure the colour stained well), but you don’t need to leave it as long as I did, three to four hours is usually enough. It really just depends on how deep you want the shade of red to be. Some people just leave it for an hour. It’s very permanent – which I guess can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how much you like it. Dying over it with darker may not last as long as on hair that was not henna-ed. It will bleach out somewhat, but takes a lot longer and I never got it anywhere near “blonde”. Henna will not lighten your hair color, so if you want a light or medium color and you have dark hair, you’ll need to lighten it first.
