About this deal

Easy and efficient setup and take down with the strong DAC Featherlite single pole system structure Includes NEW lighter, yet stronger Dirt Dagger UL Tent Stakes with patent pending I-Beam aluminium construction To extend the life of your tent floor we recommend using a Big Agnes footprint, sold separately Finally, on Big Agnes in particular, they are good at minimizing the weight of the footprint so if you buy a tent from their ultralight range then you get an ultralight footprint - not all brands seem to understand the importance of this.

You can still buy the original version in the UK, but the newer, more eco-friendly version has clear benefits in the manufacturing process. There is a 50% reduction in the water required (nearly 5 gallons of water saved per tent produced), an 80% reduction in energy use (thus significantly reducing carbon emissions) and a further 80% reduction in the use of chemicals (for a cleaner, safer dyeing and finishing process). Impressive stuff – well done Big Agnes. Tester’s Verdict Big Agnes' Fly Creek HV UL1 Solution Dye Tent has had a serious overhaul. A key feature being rolled out across a number of Big Agnes tents is the use of solution dyed fabrics. This is a great move for a number of reasons, firstly the positive environmental impacts which see a significant reduction in both energy and water consumption during manufacture. Secondly, this process means the tents are much more resistant to colour fade from UV. On a practical level, the tent benefits from a slight change in the pole design which now provides steeper walls, more headroom and a wider door opening which all make this version feel much more spacious and more usable. Fly and floor: solution-dyed water-repellent silicone treated nylon ripstop with a 1200mm water-resistant, polyurethane coating Tent body: breathable proprietary ultralight double ripstop mixed denier nylon, with solution-dyed ripstop grid and polyester mesh There are very few lightweight three-person tents that come close to the Tiger Wall UL3 in weight and price. Make / ModelFeatures one door, one vestibule on UL1 and two doors, two vestibules on UL2 and UL3 with storm flaps on all vestibule zippers The Copper Spur has received some welcome updates with new environmentally friendly fabrics, shorter pole sections, more user friendly set up features along with a range of smaller tweaks and upgrades. A great tent made better!

The updated Tiger Wall UL SD features solution-dyed fabrics that improve the quality of the tent fabric to deliver greater UV resistance while drastically reducing energy consumption and water usage at the point of production for a cleaner, greener design. Seams are taped with waterproof, solvent-free polyurethane tape while both flysheet and floor feature a silicone-treated nylon ripstop with 1200mm waterproof polyurethane coating for premium wet weather protection. Big Agnes is the first to introduce solution-dyed fabrics to their equipment category. Solution-dyed fabrics have colour pigments added at the initial stage of production rather than being 'washed-in' post-production. This creates a far more sustainable and eco-friendly friendly process with the following benefits: Fly material: fly (15d) and floor (20d) are silicone-treated ripstop nylon with 1200 mm waterproof polyurethane coating Includes NEW lighter, yet stronger Dirt Dagger UL Tent Stakes with patent pending I-Beam aluminum constructionThe updated Tiger Wall is still an ultralight, three season, free standing tent but it now uses new environmentally friendly fabrics. It retains the lightweight, spacious design with dual vestibule and practical features. The Tiger Wall has a similar frame system to the Fly Creek, except with the added cross pole across the top which makes it feel more spacious. The Tiger Wall features two doors and vestibules similar to the Copper Spur but without the extra weight. We would say the Tiger Wall gives you the best of both tents and at a price point that sits nicely in-between.

The Tiger Wall UL1 is Big Agnes' lightest technical tent, now redesigned using solution-dyed fabric that is highly resistant to UV fade and drastically reduces energy consumption and water use during manufacturing, a process that is better for the environment and improves the quality of the tent fabric. Single pole architecture using DAC Featherlite materials create a simple, yet strong and sturdy structure you can rely on through multi-day trip Smooth-closing, dual-zipper door with easy-grip zipper pulls on two doors and two awning-style vestibules (UL2/3) with storm flaps on the vestibule zippers The Tiger Wall UL 3 is a double-wall semi-freestanding tent with an inner mesh tent that is suspended from a three-pronged overhead dome-shaped pole-structure. While the corners of the foot end still need to be staked out for maximum livability, setting up a tent like this is very easy since it won’t fall over before you can get your tent stakes in. The rainfly simply drapes over the dome-shaped pole structure, so air can circulate between the inner and outer tent. The only downside is that the interior can get wet if it’s raining when you erect the inner tent, but carrying a small trail towel is sufficient to mop up any rain that gets through. The inner tent is suspended from a dome shape pole structure

The updated Tiger Wall is still an ultralight, three season, free standing tent but it now uses new environmentally friendly fabrics. It retains the lightweight, spacious design with dual vestibule and practical features. Big Agnes says Joining our award winning Platinum line of Crazylight tents, the Tiger Wall Platinum offers two doors and two vestibules for fast and light trial missions where every inch of space counts. Proprietary ultralight nylon double rip-stop, mixed denier fabric offers extra tear-strength and puncture resistance without adding weight I used to exclusively use single hoop tents for my solo, ultralight adventures – two-skin tents like the Terra Nova Laser Competition and Nordisk Telemark 1 ULW – but now I’ve completely switched to a different style. Why? Because the tapered walls of single hoop tents make the coffin-like interior too cramped, and condensation can be very difficult to avoid.
