About this deal

During the story "Fears", Batman is hunting down and trying to capture the Scarecrow. As the title suggests, fear plays a large part in the story, with Batman nearly dying of fear while trapped in a large, poisonous thorn maze. Scarecrow on the other hand, was busy blowing up power stations so he could loot the city in the dark, because that is definitely something the scarecrow would do. And here I was thinking he was obsessed with fear. Besides, didn't 'Scarecrow Poison' make people fearful and afraid? Then why did Batman dream of a relatively happy thing? And how did Halloween play a part in any of this? The first story is "Fears" in which Batman fights the Scarecrow and has to travel a maze while poisoned by Crane's fear drug.

And finally there is the Penguin, and yet more discrete hallucinations and nightmares. Bruce's father shows up wrapped in chains and informs him of three more ghosts to follow this night. The three ghosts are Poison Ivy's, the Joker's and the ghost of a zombie Batman. I have no idea why those three or what it is that they are trying to say (if anything at all).Bruce's thoughts : "I should throw the disk away without looking at it. Leap at a chance of happiness. But... I know what it's like... ...not to have a choice." I don't get what this comic is trying to say. Haunted Knight includes three unconnected stories happening in Halloween; non of them has a particularly satisfying conclusion, and they aren't particularly entertaining either. I absolutely adored all three of these stories! During the story "Choices", Batman is hunting down and trying to capture Scarecrow. Fear plays a large part in the story, with Batman nearly dying of fear while trapped in a large, poisonous thorn maze. I really love the way Tim Sale drew Scarecrow. His look was creepy and very detailed! Catwoman and the Riddler takes a trip to Rome where Catwoman meets The Blonde, a hit-man, who sets us a meeting between Selina and the capo of the Italian mob – Don Verinni. However, he is murdered by Joker's Venom and Catwoman is blamed for the act. Throughout her adventure in Rome, Catwoman eventually deduced the truth – The Riddler has betrayed her, because he thinks Catwoman knows the answer the greatest riddle of all – who is the person under the cowl of Batman. Catwoman would eventually return to Gotham City with no proof of her ancestry.

Jeph Loeb’s writing is a lot more hit and miss. The Halloween specials are...fine. Nothing too special or noteworthy, aside from the debut of Loeb’s version of the Scarecrow —- who inexplicably speaks in nursery rhymes only when Jeph Loeb writes him. From here, read Batman and Detective Comics until Batman #356 then read Batman 401-403 as they take place before Batman met Jason Todd (post crisis) First part is about Bruce meeting a lady named Jillian maxwell who is actually a secret CIA agent. In this part we see how Bruce has a deep desire to have a happy life with his beloved women. But on the other hand he doesn't have any choice to do that because he already lost his choice on the day his parents died. This is not your traditional super-hero story. The Long Halloween is a realistic, noir, murder-mystery story about a killer the media calls Holiday who hits his preys on holidays. It is the best Batman story I have a ever read. Like Mr. Christopher Nolan said, it’s not only a comic book, it’s an epic tragedy, the crime drama of the century. There are many twists and turns, the reader is always left to guess who Holiday really is and it is beautifully told and drawn. Any fan of books in general should read this. It is a masterpiece. No wonder it’s a modern classic.

Seeing Batman solving cases and going against criminals and villains is awesome. What's even better is the reason he does it. Why does multimillionaire puts on a Bat- suit and fights crime?

My second Jeph Loeb Tim sale book about Batman, hmmmmm what do we have here. Oh 3 short stories about batsie. Cool. Collecting the entirety of Batman stories from the ever popular Batman: The Long Halloween to its sequel Batman: Dark Victory plus collecting short stories and Catwoman: When In Rome plus other bonuses, the dark moody art of Tim Sale that tells the right mood of when Batman is still at his earlier stage of his career, Jeph Loeb has written a well-told tale of a serial killer killing of one of the most untouchable organized crime henchmen family members mix with Gotham's known rogue galleries of Batman that is breathtaking from this Eisner Award-winning team. In one such compilation, this is a must have to own whether you are a Batman fan or not. Batman by Jeph Loeb & Tim Sale Omnibus is a wonderful collection of the works of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sales and is recommended to those that love their work. It is safe to say that this omnibus is the definitive tome for this Dynamic Duo team. For me this was a great Batman comic that dives deep into the character of Batman like almost no other. Personally I love both the writing of Jeph Loeb and the artwork of Tim Sale and I always enjoy to read any comic by them. Madness gives us a story involving The Mad Hatter as he forces Batman to confront his unresolved issues surrounding his parents death.

Success!

These volumes have been re-released more than once, sometimes alone, sometimes included with “The Long Halloween” and “Dark Victory.” Any are easy to find anywhere you buy comics. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have and let us know what you think. Do you enjoy this October outing, or is the Dark Knight better left to non-holiday tales? Then a panel confirms all of this where Bruce's father appears in lots of chains and those chains were symbolic representations of his mistakes. And we know at this moment that all this is Bruce's dream which is reflection of his own inner self so there Bruce try to defend his father (actually his own guilt) so all this was so depressing for me to read. The story was unoriginal to say the least, in fact, it was almost painfully cliche. Batman fights the scarecrow and got poisoned with 'Scarecrow Poison' causing Batman to lapse into a dream where he marries a girl he just met. Upon waking, he decided to abandon his crusade (which we all know will NOT happen) and leave with the girl from his dream. Alfred saved the day by informing Bruce that the girl was not being completely honest. Hearing the news, Bruce had a change of plans and saved Gotham city. If that isn't cliche I don't know what is.
