About this deal

The Sternguard Veterans are true masters in the use of the holy boltgun, and come to battle with an array of deadly bolter variants. They primarily wear Tacticus armour, but it has been adorned with relics and combined with parts from older armour marks to demonstrate their station in the Chapter. Lastly, new Terminators models may also be coming soon! From these rumors, they will not be Primaris; they will stay firstborn and just scaled up and retooled.

It looks like there will be three models in the kit, and if you remember, these have been mentioned in lore a few times. So here are the overall contents for the Leviathon box. We’ll break it down by faction, starting with the Space Marines. As you can see, he looks almost identical to the video, so it should be a good indication of the rest of the models. What we do know, however, is that this box will be saving you a serious amount of cash in the long run. If previous years are anything to go by, certain models in this box may well end up on super-expensive sets a la Space Marines: Honoured of the Chapter and Thunderstrike Command, which themselves were only a few tens of quid off the retail price of their original boxes. We thought the new Space Marines Lieutenant was stealthy, but he’s just the product of decades of training in the art of subterfuge. By comparison, a new creature unleashed by the Tyranids has been spawned and evolved to become one of the galaxy’s ultimate hunters.

Rather like the Ballistus Dreadnought, the Psychophage has been given a rough time by the Internet since it was first accounced. Within moments of it first appearing on Warhammer Fest livestreams, comparisons were drawn between it and the Chaos Space Marine Venomcrawler. I mean… yeah… The Leviathan box has all the pomp and bluster you’d want from a new edition release. Featuring the now-iconic half-and-half artwork of an Ultramarines Terminator and a fang-toothed Tyranid, the box very much sets the scene for the rest of the release. These tougher-than-tough Space Marines have been in dire need of a new kit for several years now, and Leviathan delivers them with a great deal of class. Similar in some ways to the popular Bladeguard Veterans, the new Sternguard take everything that was cool about the original Sternguard Veterans and brings them into the 2020s – with a few obvious homages to their original sculpts.

Just because each figure has a couple more components than most of the figures on the Space Marines side of the box doesn’t mean the Terminators are difficult to build. With large, straightforward (and wonderfully tactile) components, these guys slot together like Lego. And once together, they look awesome. Plus what looked to be even more new Tyranids as well! We are sure there might even be more new models hidden in plain sight after the community takes its time to dive into the frames!

Of course, just like the Terminator, players of Tyranids will love this new model update, as they are a vital part of the Tyranid lineup! Not to mention the Tyranids will clearly be getting tons of new models, just like the Necrons did on the last edition’s release! Tyranids are a voracious alien swarm invading the galaxy from beyond the void. Guided by the Hive Mind, they have one terrible purpose – to devour every last shred of biomass, reconstituting it into even more powerful biomorphs and repeating the nightmarish cycle anew on the next world in their path. Winged Tyranid Prime There is a ton of value in the new Warhammer 40k Leviathan 10th Edition Starter Box; here is the retail price with the savings breakdown!

Lows are basically limited to the Neurogaunts, the slightly disappointing Prime, and a couple of niggles with the Psychophage – including gaps in the latter figure that are still visible in the picture above. At the other end of the spectrum are the delightful Termagants, the staggering Neurotyrant and the jaw-droppingly awesome Screamer-Killer – a model that will be the highlight of the box for many people. Tyranids: Driven by the imperatives of the almighty Hive Mind, Tyranid swarms sweep over world after world – a tide of biological killing machines that seek to devour every last shred of living matter.

They also mentioned in the live stream that the factions in the 10th Edition Codex roadmap would each have a new model released with their rules as well! All miniatures come supplied with their appropriate bases. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Colour paints. Up first we have the new command units – the Tyranid Prime and the Space Marine Captain in Terminator Armour. You’ve seen these chaps in the awesome cinematic trailer; you’ve seen their models teased at Warhammer Fest. Now, you can get a close-up, no-holds-barred look at them. Infernus Marines: These close assault specialists purge swathes of the enemy with incandescent firestorms, unleashed from their deadly pyreblasters. In the absence of the flowing robes that usually mark members of the Librarium, our psychic champion has opted for plenty of runic ornamentations on his Terminator armour. He’s also sporting the classic horned skull icon, worn by Librarians since the days of Rogue Trader. The right shoulder pad of the Terminator also appears to be slightly different, but it could just be artistic liberty as well. The Ballistus Dreadnought is a fearsome weapons platform armed with a versatile missile launcher and a devastating lascannon, the perfect counter to heavily armoured enemy monsters and tanks. Read more about the Space Marine side of the box here: Neurogaunts: Scuttling forward in seething masses, these creatures are spawned to protect and amplify the synaptic node beasts of the invasion swarm.
