i loved her character and role in this book so much, but what broke my heart the whole time was her carrying the guilt of her past, i was legit crying whenever her past was mentioned.. LIKE ITS NOT UR FAULT I SWEARRR The time jumps was another element that bothered me. Whilst they were necessary to the story, I did not like the way it was handled initially. It interrupted the flow of the story for me. There was no natural progression into the time jump - it was just abrupt and the reader was just expected to go along with it. overall, this is a very chill book. at least for me. though there are some tw (spoilers) // parental deaths, violence, and child abuse He has little use for morals and even less use for love, but he can’t deny the strange pull he feels toward the woman living just one floor below him. RHYS was the reason this book wasn't rated lower and the reason for me to believe that Ana Huang has potential after all, just how Alex was the reason I hated the first book. Rhys was just so much better than Alex, even though he had his red flags (I talked about that in the updates). I'm not a fan of his relationship with Bridget, especially the portion of the story while they weren't romantically involved and he was just her bodyguard. He was jelaous and stupid??, bossing her around, telling her "everything he does is for her best" and using that as an excuse to be an absolute asshole. He forgot his place so many times that I had to remind myself he was her bodyguard. Changing that portion of the story, seeing his submissive side would make this story better BY A DEGREE (once again, argue with the wall). However, seeing Rhys's character development gave me peace and comfort, I loved his banter with Andreas and hints of a relationship with Nikolai.
OMG, you will be in romance book trope heaven with the Twisted Love series since there are SO MANY featured in every book. Each book has four or more romance book tropes so if you like variety, this series has it all. If Bridget were anyone but my client, I’d drag her into the bathroom, bend her over, and spank her ass raw for her insolent tone. Romance Tropes: brother’s best friend, grumpy x sunshine, interracial romance and forced proximity. This book is has the “crushing on my older brother’s best friend my entire life” trope, with a side of some of the hottest scenes, therefore making this book quite similar to Twisted Love. But Ana brought me out of that weird slump. Her writing style is smooth. After a couple of chapters, I was absorbed into the story, liking Ava for her sunshine like personality and intrigued by Alex and his mysterious past. The story is in dual POVs so we get to know both of them. Making. your. characters. 34 (or giving them any adult age idc). and. having. them. participate. in. explicit. sexual. activities. doesn't. convince. me. they're. adults!!! Especially while reading the first few chapters, I was crying my eyes out from laughing so hard. There where some hilarious moments between these characters, and I just couldn’t stop laughing. My husband almost got worried when I couldn’t stop. Yes.. it was just really funny. Overall, Twisted Love is dark, twisted, entertaining and addictive romance full of tropes and drama.When she’s not reading or writing, Ana is busy daydreaming and scouring Yelp for her next favorite restaurant. Alex: Alex is Ava’s brother’s friend. He is the CEO of a company. When Josh goes on a medical tour to South America he asked Alex to look after Ava.
