this read had so much potential. i liked the characters at first, the conflicts, the idea of the plot. but by the time i reached the 60% mark, i was skimming lines: the repetitiveness was killing me. because instead of building a strong relationship between the protagonists, the author chose to make their love story frustratingly shallow. At this point I have to say when Sebastian York is paired up with other female narrators other than my personal favourite, I tend to skip through the chapters. Lucy Rivers however, did a good job with her characters and I enjoyed listening to her voice overall.

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: Yes the h's sister causes major drama throughout the book and the H is jealous of OM that the h is around The H…so beta he makes doodlebugs look like bugs of steel. His grandmother tells him to marry so marry he does. OW slithers out so in comes the heroine. Vows celibacy and devotion to the h only to have OW show up with tears in her eyes so he takes her to dinner….THE NIGHT AFTER THE WEDDING! He is faithful, but the evil OW has his number. He's a nice guy in general, and thinks he loves the heroine. Bizarre turnaround at the end and after all the sister's machinations come out he declares he never ever loved her so what's the deal? the 4th red flag was him being in love with her sister all of those five past years and then suddenly fall in love with her a couple chapters into the book and saying it has always been her 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Like when has it always been her exactly ??when you were in love with her sister ? or you and you were having loud sex with her sister WHEN SHE WAS THE NEXT ROOM or when you didn't want to marry her? or when you apologize to her sister for marrying her ? Make ir make sense catharina maura Aries– he is Hannah’s fiance. Initially, his marriage was fixed with someone else, but then he saw Hannah and fell for her. Then he was in a relationship with her for five years, but their story didn’t end well. He ended up marrying his old friend and Hannah’s sister.

But Grandma Winsor is tired of her shit, so she is like, the wedding will take place even if you don’t come. They all expected Hannah to come on the wedding day, but they were all mistaken. She doesn’t come, and then Raven and Ares have to get married. Am I the only one who saw that the sister was a narcissist from like chapter 2? How did everyone else miss that? If she is really that great an actress why isn’t she winning more awards? 😂 I stood there, staring up at the giant mahogany doors of the villa as I felt a pool of wintry anxiety settle in the pit of my stomach. It's been nearly ten minutes since I had arrived and unlike normal people, who would have rung the doorbell ages ago, I just stood there, mentally wrestling a dilemma. There was plenty of angst made possible by sister/villain Hannah taking centre stage (a true piece of evil, toxic and manipulating work). Don't even get me started on mummy dearest! Ares described those two perfectly by stating they were "made from the same cloth". Poor Raven. Hey guys, doing some minor changes to the book! As for the sequel, it's still under work. Story line is more or less complete, but it would take a while till I publish the first few chapters! Thank you guys for your patience! I'm so utterly grateful for all of your support! Love you!*

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.And the b sister of the h sneaks into the bed, so when the H wakes up, he thinks he slept with the ow/h’s sister. Holy Cow!!! The queen of all fears does it again. Raven has been in love with Ares, her best friend’s older brother, her whole life while he was in a relationship and promised her sister Hannah. Shortly before her wedding, Hannah runs away from her and leaves Raven to fulfill the terms of the marriage agreed upon by both families. This was a good start to a new series. And I love all the Windsor siblings so I’m happy to know that they each will get their own story.

every chapter was the exact same: raven (fmc) gets insecure about ares’ (mmc) past relationship with her sister. she voices her worries, they have a long talk, they sleep together. her sister shows up and flirts with ares, and she gets uncertain all over again. they have the same talk, they sleep together. repeat ten thousand times!! Push/Pull: Yes the h pushes away a good bit and I'd say the H is the main pursuer of the relationship

Repetitive. There was no much repetitiveness in this book. It was the FMC, Raven, saying she loved him and he’d never love her. And the MMC, Ares, saying he still had feelings for the sister, but was committed to his wife. And then they sleep together. and the whole thing would start again. It was frustrating and annoying, to say the least. Along with angst galore another thing guaranteed from this author is comeuppance. And I’m happy with how it turned out in the end. Raven had no choice except to take her sister’s place and marry Ares Windsor. He is the man she loved her whole life, but he only cared about her sister. The story starts with Raven, a gorgeous top model and a part of the Windsor family because of Sierra (her best friend). Overall Pace of Story: Not the best. I skimmed a good bit for the last 1/4ish because it dragged and I no longer cared all that much.
