About this deal

I really loved it. The Whispers is a big-hearted psychological thriller about the dark corners that lurk in even the closest of friendships. Heidi Perks reads like Liane Moriarty at her Big Little Lies best as she brilliantly mines the jealously, spite and rage that lurk behind the polite smiles at every school gates. Highly recommend' TONY PARSONS Read more Details When Anna goes missing, Grace steps up and wants answers. Why won’t her so-called friends or her husband go to the police? Why is no-one out there looking for her?

THE GRIPPING NEW THRILLER FROM THE BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF NOW YOU SEE HER*** 'Razor-sharp and impossible to put down' DAILY MAIL _________________________ A MISSING WIFE. FOUR FRIENDS. WHO IS TELLING THE TRUTH?Initially gripped, I had high hopes for this book, unfortunately, after the main event (which happened very early in the story), not a lot happened and sadly I found the ending quite disappointing. As Grace searches desperately for answers, everyone seems to have a different version of the truth.

Anna Robinson hasn't been seen since she went on a night out with her four closest friends. She has a loving husband and a son she adores. Surely she wouldn't abandon them and her perfect life. . . I found The Whispers a thought-provoking and deliciously suspenseful read. Any female reader will recognise the types of individual and group dynamics Heidi Perks describes, especially those of us who have observed and/or experienced playground (parent) politics ourselves!A surprising plot and lots of twists with interesting characters. I loved the writing style and the setting of the story' The story of Anna and Grace's friendship and Anna's disappearance is compelling in its own right, but the real triumph emerges from Perks' skill as seeing some women for exactly who they are and what they are capable of.' DAILY MAIL She has a loving husband and a son she adores. Surely she wouldn't abandon them and her perfect life. . .

I was riveted by this plot. So much so I never wanted it to end, yet, on the flip side I wanted more, I needed more. Oh, I got much more! I went into this blind and for me, it’s the best way for a thriller. I don’t want to know much at all, I want to go on a journey unknown. She has a loving husband and a son she adores. This is one of those books that you start to read and right from the outset it becomes completely addictive.' By then I was already deep in the throes of Now You See Her. I met the amazing Nelle Andrew from PFD who offered me representation and after a year we had two incredible pre-empts for the book from Emily Griffin at Century and Marla Daniels at Simon and Schuster in the US.
