About this deal

See everything you watch come to life with greater detail and realism. Think of nature in even more wonderful shades. The sky is brighter, the grass is greener, and the details are clearer. Samsung's Quantum Dot-powered TVs transform light into lifelike and accurate colour – validated by Pantone. The result? A naturally bright and colourful picture in over a billion cinematic colours. Frame your most treasured memories in a way that best complements your home. It's easy to upload and exhibit your own photography or a new family portrait on your TV – simply send your photos to The Frame TV via your smartphone* or a USB flash drive. Better still, you can elevate your photos to new artistic heights by choosing from six pre-loaded aesthetic filters. For instance, while it regularly presented a good image for broadcast TV content, it could be too aggressive with motion smoothing for films, and seemingly taking different approaches to individual streaming apps. Measured against Unified Glare Rating (UGR) testing standard, certified as glare-free (reflection, discomfort and disability glare) by UL.

As the most discreet TV for smaller spaces, the Samsung The Frame QE-32LS03C perfectly blends top quality TV when on and a work of art when off. The absence of 4K resolution is not perceived to be a big miss: Unless you are sitting very close to the TV screen, you should be good at distinguishing differences. The 32 “large screen has a pixel density of approximately 68 PPI, which is equivalent to a 65″ 4K screen, and is more than good enough for normal viewing distances of 1-2 meters. The 32″ version differs from the other Frame models in several respects: First, the screen resolution is limited to Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) where the larger models have Ultra HD (3840 x 2160). It also has to do without the extra high-contrast Dual LED panel that the big brothers are equipped with. The frame rate is also limited up to 60Hz, which will possibly disappoint some gaming fans. We tested the 55" (QN55LS03TA) variant of The Frame 2020, and for the most part, we expect our review to be valid for the43"(QN43LS03TA), the 50" variant (QN50LS03TA), the 65" variant (QN65LS03TA), and the 75" variant (QN75LS03TA). The 32" model has a 1080p resolution and we haven't tested it, so our review is less applicable. The QLED panel for the 2019 / 2020 models is absolutely an upgrade, with higher brightness and enhanced contrast – thanks to a metallic quantum dot filter unique to QLED sets – compared to LCDs. The 40-watt audio system in The Frame produces satisfactory sound for any kind of content. It never gets too loud, but there’s also no detectable clipping even at the top of the volume range. The car chases in The Batman, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s charming songs for Encanto, and straight dialogue in movies and TV shows all sounded clear if somewhat less than full-bodied.

The Samsung monitor uses a separate junction box (One Connect), which carries power and video signals up to the TV through a common cable. The purpose is to reduce cable clutter, but we scratch our heads a bit over the solution they have chosen on the 32″ model.

That makes for a huge amount of variety, meaning The Frame TV is a television that can be catered to your specific living situation. Want a massive screen to put the fear of god into your children? Or a teeny, cutsey display that can fit on a shelf or be easily tidied away? The Frame TV can do it all. Samsung Account required to access our network-based smart services and apps. If you choose not to log-in, you will only get connection to terrestrial TV (applicable to devices with tuners only) and external devices, e.g. via HDMI Tired of seeing distracting glare on your TV screen? The Frame's ground-breaking Matte Display overcomes this problem as it absorbs reflections - so even in bright light you'll have the best possible viewing experience, without any distractions. It also helps your TV look just like a picture frame, so you can enjoy beautiful artwork and photography on a glare-free canvas*.

The same is true of viewing HDR content, as there Filmmaker Mode’s maximum brightness jumped up to 500 nits, which isn’t super bright for HDR (the Samsung S959B QD-OLED recently hit 1,050 nits and last year’s Sony A80J OLED got to 600) but is more than acceptable in most situations. As far as HDR color, The Frame covered 92.1% of the UHDA-P3 color gamut—not terrible, but not as good as you’ll see on other sets. There’s no support for Dolby Vision, but there is for HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG. The Frame 2020 supports FreeSync to reduce screen tearing when gaming. However, the 32 inch model doesn't have any VRR support. Additionally, the 32", 43", and 50" sizes have a 60Hz panel, instead of the 120Hz on the larger variants. Internet connection, compatible Android or iOS device and SmartThings app required. Photos will be displayed at the original resolution. While the 2018 The Frame model only featured three sizes – 43-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch– that has since expanded with a 49-inch size, as well as the massive 75-inch and miniscule 32-inch sizes for 2020. The 2021 iteration keeps all but the 32-inch sizes, though we could see a smaller version release later in the year. With that said, we think the 32-inch provides an excellent picture experience according to the conditions. Of course, we’ll have to wait until we get all these TVs in for testing before we can say anything for certain – but, as it stands, The Frame (2022) looks like a strong contender against the rest of the lineup and stands heads and shoulders above its predecessor.
