A fast-bake white loaf proved problematic, coming out pale on top and nearly burnt at the bottom. Although still a good size and shape – the manual says to expect a smaller and denser loaf at this setting – the texture was undercooked and doughy, with a strong smell of yeast. With experimentation, perhaps reducing the yeast or sugar content, this program could work. However, I’d only recommend the existing recipe if you’re desperate.Our experiences with the bread makers varied widely. While some ran quietly and couldn't be easier to use, others were very noisy and kneaded so aggressively that the bread maker moved across the kitchen counter.
