Fantastic Caste System: Before the war, Cybertron had a strict caste system, featuring manuals like the future Megatron, archivists such as Orion Pax, and "disposables" that included Soundwave and his Minicons. The Autobots continue to uphold it under Optimus Prime's regime, while the Decepticons have opposed it ever since their formation as a movement. Self-Imposed Exile: Where Megatron is when we first find him, he was defeated in combat by Optimus and believes this is what led to the Autobot victory and thus he's no longer fit to lead. Adaptational Villainy: In the original stories, Sideswipe defected to the Decepticons after the Autobots' failed attempt to execute him. Here, he never defected (as evidenced by the fact that his Autobot insignia is not slashed over by a scar), and dies an Autobot as one of the many casualties. The only thing standing in Prime's path to domination is Megatron, a noble Decepticon willing to lead a small band of rebels in a fight for freedom.

Adaptational Wimp: In the first issue, Blurr is shown delivering Sixshot's dismembered corpse to Ratchet. Befitting a character normally portrayed as a One-Man Army, Shattered Glass Sixshot is easily killed. He's even coloured like a Red Shirt!Galvatron was later given a briefing on the doings of his villainous counterpart and Rodimus, noting it was very in character for the latter to hide in the Skuxxoid Cluster. Divination Recordicons Voting for the second Titan Class figure was conducted via Facebook, with fans choosing between a remake of Omega Supreme, Trypticon, or Scorponok. [5] Trypticon won. Dead Guy on Display: Like in the previous Shattered Glass continuity, Optimus Prime puts his victims up on display.

Demonization: In a twist of the original series' set-up, it's the Autobot government doing this to the Decepticons, portraying them as Ax-Crazy Bomb-Throwing Anarchists who seek Cybertron's destruction by tearing down the caste system to the general populace. The very name 'Decepticon' is basically a slur, made up of the words Con (Constructed) and deception/deceitful. The Decepticons chose to wear the name as a badge of honor, because if speaking truth is deception, they're gladly guilty.The Shattered Glass poster (as seen above) bears a strong resemblance to one of the first Transformers posters, right down to the characters' positions and actions: Megatron in Optimus Prime's place, and the evil second-in-commands ( Starscream and Rodimus) more in front of the battle than their respective evil leaders ( Megatron and Optimus Prime). Hayato Sakamoto proposed a Shattered Glass version of Transformers: Prime, fittingly named Transformers Prime: Shattered Glass. [1] [2] Originally known as Optronix, Optimus Prime was obsessed with obtaining knowledge. Unsatisfied with his low position in society, he gained power through treachery and the ideology of conquest. Those who agreed with Optronix joined forces with him and severed ties with the old government of Cybertron to become autonomous-as a result, they took the name Autobots. Optronix was the first to begin upgrading himself to become more powerful, keeping the most powerful features for himself as he passed the knowledge on to his minions. Eventually, the group declared war on the rest of Cybertron, destroying any who refused to submit to their goals. During this period, Optimus Prime received a startling revelation that permanently damaged his sanity. He also banished the Old One, an aged Transformer had once served him as an advisor but whom he came to hold in contempt. Fortunately for Cybertron, a group of resistance fighters emerged to challenge Prime's reign: the Decepticons, a group of Transformers named for their ability to transform into vehicle modes and thus hide in plain sight. Their leader, the noble Megatron became Optimus' nemesis, particularly after Optimus managed to acquire transformation technology for his Autobots.
