About this deal

The optics of the Ricoh GR III receive a score of 68/100. This camera features a 24-megapixel CMOS sensor, coupled with a GR Engine 6 processor. It has a shooting speed of 4 frames per second and a DXOMARK sensor score of 76. The sensor size is APS-C, providing good image quality in various lighting conditions.

The camera detects faces and focuses. This feature is enabled in [Auto Area AF], [Select AF], and [Pinpoint AF]. It is also possible to enable this feature in [Auto Area AF] only. With this setting, when you want to focus on a subject instead of faces, simply switch focus modes without turning face detect off.If I turn the GR III on and off when I find situations I want to shoot I get around 175 exposures on a fully charged battery. And before you go off on how terrible this is… Those 175 shots might be over 4 or 5 hours of shooting. So it’s not like the battery is unusable. Leica shooters have been using this kind of zone focus technique for decades and it’s brilliant to see it in a camera like the Ricoh GR III. You can still buy the GR2 for an excellent price and it’s pretty tempting. But the advances in image quality, high ISO performance and overall usability DEFINITELY make the GR3 worth the difference. A high-performance processor "Accelerator Unit" has been adopted on this model as a powerful way to support high image quality. The signal output by the image sensor is sent to the image processor after being optimally handled. This reduces noise, delivering superb resolution and color reproduction across the entire sensitivity range. It also makes it possible to shoot at ISO 102400. Battery Recharge/Power Supply (Optional AC Adapter required), Data Transfer: MTP, Video output: DisplayPort over USB-C (DisplayPort Alternative Mode)

The metallic, warm-gray color and textured surface of the RICOH GR III Diary Edition camera body are designed to reflect the camera’s reliability and quality, with the textured finish also ensuring a firm grip. The attractive finish also gives the camera an appearance that it is more than an imaging tool, as the warm color helps the camera “blend” easily into daily life. The grip rubber has a dark-brown finish that complements the camera body. When mounted, the ring cap with a natural-silver finish, accentuates the warm-toned camera body. The GR III features a hybrid AF system combining a contrast-type AF mechanism superior in focusing precision with a phase-detection-type AF mechanism assuring high-speed focusing operation. Taking advantage of both mechanisms, it assures faster, more responsive autofocus operation. The new lens is generally a very capable performer, with only traces of lateral chromatic aberration and negligible distortion, and very good sharpness across the frame. Consistency does improve a little once you stop down the aperture, but it's still better than expected at f/2.8. Vignetting, however, is a surprisingly constant presence throughout the aperture range, so it's worth keeping the effective Peripheral Illumination control enabled to rectify this. When using the PEG image processing and editing function "Trimming", the ADJ display for aspect ratio selection is now aligned with the selected aspect ratio. The touchscreen shows excellent response, which makes it easy to set the focusing point or browse your images, although focusing performance overall is a little mixed. It's certainly an improvement on the previous contrast-detect-based system, but it can be unpredictable when set to the auto pattern, and sluggish when the light isn't great. It's fast enough for most scenes and subjects, but the standard on such cameras is high here now, and the GR III can't quite keep up with the competition (although it's significantly better here than one of its main rivals, the Fujifilm XF10).Please complete the form below for a quote - Please be as accurate as possible to help us give an accurate quote.
