Now let’s talk about leaking. The RPM coil didn’t leak at all on me. There was a little condensation under the pod but no large amounts of ejuice. The RPM 2 coil leaked pretty heavily though and I had to make sure to remove the pod and clean it out at least once a day, just to be sure that it didn’t leak down into the internals. The 0.40Ω RPM coil is simply rated at 25W with no wattage range at all. This coil is designated by Smok as a mouth to lung coil, but we’ll get into this in the performance section. Because of the resistance rating this coil is also best if used with regular nicotine ejuices but it can probably manage low strength nicotine salt ejuices that are 20mg or less. The Nord 4 is the chunkiest version yet, but it still looks like a Nord. It weighs 115 grams and measures 104.9 mm x 33.7 mm x 24.4 mm. It has a screen along the side which displays puff count, puff time, wattage, resistance, voltage, and battery life percentage. The new Nord pods hold 4.5 mL of liquid and are also dark tinted. It’s not very hard to monitor your liquid levels, but a clear version could possibly be in the works someday. The pods on the Nord also feature a robust magnetic connection that grabs it and secures it into place. For me, the battery life was far better than any other pod system I’ve tried – vaping at around 25w I get at least a full day of fairly heavy vaping before I need to re-charge!

The Nord 5 device now features a sliding button on the front of the device, allowing more or less airflow into the device, but this design is much more reliable and is easier to function. Overall, I’m really impressed with the design of the Nord 4 pods – they’re only slightly different to the pod design with previous Nord releases and as the saying goes –‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’. SMOK Nord 4 | Performance The air-flow on the 0.4ohm coil with the airflow wheels half open was the perfect draw for me – something I expected after using the original SMOK Nord. It’s not too tight, but not too loose. Of course, it’s fully adjustable, so you can play around until you find the perfect draw for you. Each coil resistance takes a certain liquid, you can’t have a 0.4 ohm coil, and dump 50/50 e-liquid in it and complain that it’s horrible or doesn’t work. Flavor output here is rather good and a lot of the notes come through in my ejuices but not all of them. This is a slightly above average coil for flavor but not an incredible coil by any means.
