About this deal

In this story, Ottoline and Munroe meet a young girl Cecily Forbes-Lawrence III an her Patagonian pony, while the duo are visiting the Pettigrew Park and Ornamental Gardens to feed the turtles. Ottoline is instantly enthralled with Cecily (who doesn't seem all that nice to Munroe) and when Cecily tells her that she will be attending the Alice B. Smith school Ottoline sends a letter to her parents asking that she be permitted to attend as well. Ottilia on valepukujen valtiatar, josta hänellä on Puijausopiston todistus. Valepuvuista onkin hyötyä, sillä kaupungissa tapahtuu jotain outoa: sylikoiria katoaa ja rikkaiden rouvien koruja varastetaan. Ottilia päättää selvittää, mikä on rikosaallon takana, apunaan luotettava ystävänsä Mauri-herra. Riddellin kertomukset ovat täynnä nonsense ilottelua, juuri sopivan pöhköä lastenkirjoihin. Ottilia asuu Pippurimyllytalon 24. kerroksessa, asunnossa numero 243. Seuranaan hänellä on Mauri-herra, Pieni, karvainen norjalainen suo-otus. Ottilian vanhemmat matkustavat ympäri maailmaa keräämässä mielenkiintoisia esineitä, kuten keisarien hattuja, meteoriitteja, hirveän pieniä maalauksia, naamioita ja erikoisia kelloja. We meet 2 Foxes, a girl who looks like Ottoline (and even has a hairy friend just like Ottoline has), it was just a delight. I was a bit looking forward to some sort of twist though as to why the girl was so similar to Ottoline. But nothing really happens with it, the only thing that happens is that they are both amazed, and keep saying the same sentence.

Pored toga sto je knjiga ispunjena prelepim ilustracijama(normalno) , nju prati i vrlo zabavna prica 😊 Mr Munroe is Ottoline's friend and is from a bog in Norway. He is a little creature with long, straight hair that Ottoline likes to brush. It is also hinted that Mr Munroe also has a diploma from Who R U. [4] In the book, he disguises himself as a dog named Bimby Bottlenose II, Emperor of Heligoland, Pedigree Norwegian Lapdog (to which they called him Nosey). He draws a map of Apartment 243, for Ottoline to catch the Yellow Cat while trying to steal the money from Ottoline's apartment. Mr Munroe was found by Ottoline's parents in Norway and taken in. He was given a coat and a pair of sunglasses by Ottoline's parents. Mr Munroe lived with Ottoline since she was a baby and they were best friends ever since. Introducing Miss Ottoline Brown, an exceptionally inquisitive Mistress of Disguise, and her partner in crime, Mr Munroe. Ottoline and the Yellow Cat is a quirky mystery-adventure from Chris Riddell, author of the award-winning Goth Girl books.

After a lot of hard work by Mr. Munroe and lot of planning and help from the Service Agencies, Ottoline and Mr. Munroe do manage to catch the notorious jewellery thief and hand her to the Police. The pet dogs are reunited with their owners, some of them actually hated their owners, because they insisted on taking them to a pet saloon. And which dog likes that? Ottoline's parents are never seen during the book, but Ottoline's mother writes her postcards from wherever they are. They refer to Ottoline as "O", and call each other Ma and Pa. Pa is mentioned in the postcards, but he never writes her one himself. Ma seems to know that Ottoline got a diploma and that the Bear is now living with them in Apartment 243. Ma and Pa send Ottoline gifts from many companies to take care of her. Ottoline is going to join Ma and Pa's adventures when she is older. They have many collections from other countries. On the Urban Safari, the Purple Fox shows Ottoline that the city is populated at night with flamingos, meerkats, miniature zebras and shy gorillas. I think Riddell included all of these animals simply because it would be fun to draw them. I was attracted to Chris Riddell's work mainly because of the fascinating illustrations he did for Neil Gaiman. To my delight, I discovered the Ottoline series and this is the first installment I read (and also the 3rd book in the series, I just found out).

When the friends are finally reunited they are surprised to find that Quite Big Foot is far from the frightening monster everyone believes him to be and they must find away to help him hide from prying eyes. Riddel's trademark illustrations and imaginative creatures come to life in Ottoline's latest adventure. Ottoline at Sea by Chris Riddell is an adventure fantasy and the last part in a trilogy. Ottoline, the eponymous hero of the book is an eccentric girl who lives in ‘Big City’ with Mr Munroe, a ‘bog person’ that met Ottoline’s parents in a bog in Norway and came to live with them. Ottoline is not an ordinary girl. She loves collecting odd shoes and is a ‘mistress of disguise’. Similarly eccentric, her parents travel the world as professional roving collectors while Ottoline stays at home with Mr Munroe.Ottoline and the Purple Fox by Chris Riddell is the 4th and final book in his entertaining YA series featuring Ottoline. In this final story, Ottoline and her friend Mr. Munroe, a troll from Norway, plan a party for their friends. As well, they meet a girl and her friend, who oddly look amazingly similar to Ottoline and Mr. Munroe. Of course, they also meet the titled Purple Fox who takes them on an adventure. Ottoline lives in a stylish apartment in Big City with a small hairy creature called Mr Munroe. Together they look after the Brown family’s eclectic collections – and dabble in a spot of detective work. So they are the first to the scene of the crime when a string of high-society dog-nappings and jewel thefts hits Big City. Ottilia on varsin omatoiminen tyttö, vaikka elääkin varakkaassa ympäristössä: hänen luonaan käy nimittäin päivittäin tyynynpöyhijä, siivoaja, ruokalähetti, valaistussuunnittelija, ovennuppien kiillottaja ja koko joukko muita erialojen ammattilaisia.

I loved how Goth Girl made a cameo in this one, and I loved how Ottoline dreamt of Goth Girl. I wouldn't mind having a book with both characters in it. :)This being a children's story, Ottoline meets helpful allies at every turn. She rides in a submarine. On a sea plane. On a raft called the Kon-Leekki, captained by Thør Thørrensen. Along the way, Ottoline's adventure includes hunting for mermaids (which turn out to manatees), meeting the Polar Bear Shoe Company, and visiting with Ringo and George (two green-nosed trolls who live in Norwegian Wood). There is nothing in this book to frighten young children, the Quite Big Foot turns out to be friendly and mischaracterized.

This, the second of the Ottoline series, is a delight. Ottoline is off to the Alice. B. Smith School For The Differently Gifted; a boarding school for children with a special an often quite peculiar gift. As she's trying to figure out what her gift might be, a ghost starts to haunt the school...Miss Ottoline Brown is an exceptionally inquisitive Mistress of Disguise living in Big City, who also has a diploma from the Who-R-U Academy of Disguise. She can solve any mystery that comes her way, as long as she has her yellow cat assistant by her side at all times, her trusty and faithful Mr Munroe. The party was also great fun, good job Ottoline, that was really sweet of you and you friends to do. Hopefully those two will be very happy. Chris Riddell on tullut tutuksi Ada Gootti lastenkirjoistaan. Osasinkin siis varautua tarttuessani Ottilia ja keltainen kissa -romaaniin hupaisaan tarinaan ja ihastuttavaan kuvitukseen. Mustavalkoisen kuvituksen yllättävänä väripiristeenä on punaista. In a quirky blend of the familiar and fantastical, this book should appeal to the young, even the exceptionally resistant, reader. Ottoline is a seemingly ordinary little girl with a penchant for wearing unusual mismatched shoes, who lives in a high-rise apartment building with Mr Munroe, a hairy bog creature. Her parents are professional explorers who are away in Norway searching for the elusive Quite Big Foot, and they send Ottoline her own Amateur Roving Collector's Pass that she could use for her next holiday. As Ottoline is planning her next trip and furiously reading up and buying up travelling gear, Mr Munroe suddenly disappears. With the clues he leaves behind, Ottoline embarks on an adventure in search of her friend, together with the help of a Canadian Bear she meets in the laundry room at the basement of her building, who should be hibernating but had decided to take a little vacation himself in the apartment building.
