About this deal

Iron Bias: (High) This feature was first introduced in the Equinox Series and allows you to deal with situations when junk iron is close to an actual good non-ferrous target. In this case you have only the possibility to set Iron Bias to high which means that your machine will only focus on clean non-ferrous targets. It features a vibration upon detection alert that makes it easier to determine if you have found something underwater. This feature is also helpful for those who are hard of hearing or those who do not wish to make a lot of noise while detecting. The company has decided, it seems, to produce this series to offer these possibilities at a lower price tag! This is all good …

I am almost sure that the Vanquish models are a direct competitor of the Ace series … and if people pay attention well, it is obvious that the Minelab models offer far more interesting stuff! Garrett people should probably think and consider that! Minelab VANQUISH series vs EQUINOX Series The detector may still struggle slightly in areas with saltwater. Saltwater is naturally conductive, and this is a single frequency metal detector. It will outperform many single frequency metal detectors in saltwater areas but may give more false readings than a pulse induction metal detector would. The Multi-IQ technology allows you to search through all the possible frequencies without pressing a button. It is waterproof and lightweight enough for a young child to use. Its overall ease of use and Bluetooth ability mean you have more maneuverability and fewer wires dangling around. The disadvantage of the Equinox 600 is that it is very noisy in between, with lots of frequency jumps. On the other hand, the Equinox is more stable and quieter when it’s in Beach mode. What Makes The Vanquish 540 Metal Detector A Good Buy?

As more than one frequency is transmitted, received, and processed simultaneously, the detector can maintain target sensitivity across all target types and sizes while keeping ground noise to a minimum.Technical Reason: Before if you wanted to have a Minelab multi-frequency machine with Iron Bias feature you had to acquire an Equinox model which is not affordable by everybody! Frequencies Three: Low, Medium & high Simultaneously Noise Cancel Auto (19 Channels) Iron Bias High / Low Sensitivity Levels 10 Volume Levels 10 Target Tones 5 Target ID Range -9 to 40 Discrimination Segments 25 Depth Indicator Levels 5 Audio Output Two of the other 3 most recommended multi-frequency metal detectors are Minelab products: the Minelab CTX 3000 and Equinox 800. The CTX 3000 was not covered here because it is a very complicated machine and a more high-end metal detector, not for beginners. It is also very expensive. The Vanquish line opens this otherwise expensive and complicated market to all detectorists. Small: 8*5 inches Double-D in case you are seeking for more sensitivity regarding smaller targets … However, this coil won’t cover lots of space and couldn’t go very deep.

The 440 has fewer Target Tones than the 540, with 3 compared to 5. Discrimination is lower on the 440 with only 12 segments compared to the 540s 25. Both models have 5 depth indicator levels. Vanquish 440 does not have Bluetooth connectivity and can only be used with wired headphones (comes with the Vanquish 440) or via the external speaker. What sets Multi-IQ apart from other so-called multi-frequency systems is that it is true Simultaneous multi-frequency. That is you are transmitting and receiving on all supported frequencies at the same time as opposed to selecting just one frequency from a given range to use at any one time, which is probably better described as switchable frequency. Switching frequency is effectively like swapping one single frequency coil for another, without physically swapping it. With Minelab's simultaneous multi-frequency it's like using all your coils in one sweep of your machine. Three Simultaneous Frequencies The Vanquish 540 will likely perform better in saltwater areas. Saltwater is inherently conductive, and this has been known to throw off single frequency metal detectors. The Simplex + does have a dedicated Beach Mode which helps compensate for some of the saltwater effects. Both metal detectors have pinpoint mode, lighted LED screen, numerical target identification, and discrimination features. I personally feel that not many hobbyists understand the real added value of this series, especially that the company already offers the GO-FIND series and Equinox series! The lake beach sensitivity on an 8 is excellent, and to a 6 in the water. The remarkable thing about the Vanquish is that there are no in-between noises.

The cover will also prevent fine beach sand from accumulating around the LED display and between the buttons. Low tide is the best time to hit the beach, giving you more search area. Large: 12*9 inches Double-D if you are looking for more space to cover while swinging and more depth … But this could be in detriment of sensitivity towards small sized items. Search Modes: you’ve got 3 (Coins, Jewelry and All Metal) and that’s it … There is no custom mode that could be beneficial once you learn the machine fully, but this remains a good thing for beginners or those who like to keep things simple. Multi-IQ technology is one of Minelab’s most impressive technological advancements. This technology allows the detector to function on multiple frequencies at once. Rather than having adjustable frequencies, this line of detectors can operate on all 5 of the frequencies simultaneously. The Minelab Story: With over 25 years of excellence, Minelab continually delivers the World's Best Metal Detection Technologies, creating premium quality products for your greatest detecting advantage. Minelab's superior technology was initially conceived through the inventive genius of physicist Bruce Candy. His quest to improve metal detector capabilities has resulted in more patents for new metal detection technologies over the past 25 years than any of Minelab's competitors. Strongly focused on research and development , Minelab has the largest engineering team in the metal detection industry with more than 30 scientist, engineers and technicians committed to producing the next generation of detectors. Whatever your lifestyle, Minelab superior performance metal detectors deliver the most exciting treasure hunting and gold prospecting discoveries imaginable.

Cover more ground and search deeper or detect more accurately and in tight spaces with both a 12” and 8” coil included as standard. Waterproof: All Vanquish models have waterproof coils, but only the coil, the control box is definitely not … Thus you can’t submerge them underwater … However, the Nox 600 and 800 could be submerged underwater up to 10 feet … Thus you can do some underwater detection if you want to! Smaller search coils, between 5” and 8” area great at searching in trashy areas and highly mineralized soil conditions. These coils are smaller and more maneuverable in heavy vegetation or rough terrain. The 8” search coil gives the best depth, target separation, and ease of pinpointing in areas with low to medium soil mineralization and moderate trash content.

Fisher F44 w/7" Concentric coil that I mainly use as a loaner-unit for friends and family for urban Coin & Jewelry Hunting Probably the most exciting feature of the Vanquish Series, which puts it way ahead of others in its price range (and above), is the inclusion of Minelab's unique Multi-IQ Simultaneous Multi-Frequency Technology, as seen in the Equinox Series which made it a real game changer in the metal detecting world and by far the best selling metal detector in 2018, 2019 and probably all-time to date.
