The Super GPS Enhanced is one of the more user-friendly cycling computers we tested. It scores a 7, putting it in the upper end of the ranking. Great smartphone integration via the Lezyne Ally V2 application gave the score a significant bump up. Four tactile buttons control all functions and are used for navigation between screens. Two buttons are located on each side of the housing and are substantial enough to be felt with gloves on. Each button has multiple functions, depending on the screen you are currently on. The Garmin Edge 520 Plus also uses tactile buttons to perform all functions, but it has seven separate buttons.

It has fewer available features than the Garmin Edge models, the Mega XL and the ELEMNT Bolt, so it scores lower than those products. The downside is limited app support for routing, with it done on a computer and uploaded – but this does support Strava. What it doesn't support is ANT+, as this is Bluetooth only, which could be a deal breaker for those who have already invested in certain sensors. The Flow app has some great data layouts for looking at your progress and updates are regular. Lezyne also makes the Micro C GPS(also tested), which is incredibly small and lightweight and boasts all of the same features of the Super GPS with a color screen.

You also won’t be able to view the map directly on your device – I honestly don’t think it would be an enjoyable experience. So, this makes it smartphone-dependent. When a Lezyne GPS freezes you can shut down the device by pressing 'Menu' and 'Enter' for 30 seconds. We call this a 'Hard Reset'. If this happens while driving, you will unfortunately lose all your recorded trip data. The computer also now sync's with the Komoot and Relive apps for users interested in the features those provide. The Komoot app can aid in route planning for touring and road riding.

It took me about 5-10 minutes to set everything up. So, the process was not as smooth as with Wahoo bike computers.

Pairing the Super GPS with ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart accessories is a simple process. The type of sensor is selected in Menu-Sensors, and then the Super GPS will search for the sensor and pair following a series of confirmation prompts to ensure the correct sensor is paired. Once a sensor is paired it will automatically sync with the sensor ID each time the unit is turned on. All credible GPS computers will offer either Ant+ or Bluetooth Smart connectivity (often both), which in turn allows you to pair the computer with a range of third-party devices, including heart rate monitors, power meters and cadence sensors. These will then return a wealth of related data. The combination of the larger mount and deeper unit means that the Super Pro GPS sits quite high off the bars and looks a bit chunky. It looks a bit better with a forward mount, which positions the computer in front of the bars. That’s something that you can buy separately or as part of Lezyne’s Loaded bundle, which also includes a heart rate monitor and cadence sensor.
