About this deal

A top gift idea for boys and girls age 10+ and any fan, the set comes with step-by-step building instructions. Explore the entire LEGO Star Wars range to find other construction sets that will delight all ages. The torso has the same printed details as the shoulder armour, which means that you could have the figure without the shoulder armour if you wish. The decorated arms appear particularly outstanding on this minifigure, even featuring the tiny Mudhorn signet alongside accurate weaponry. However, the continued use of an undecorated head beneath the Mandalorian's helmet is disappointing, especially since this hero memorably removes his helmet and reveals his face to everybody aboard Moff Gideon's vessel. The front end of the cruiser opens up in much the same way many previous LEGO Star Destroyers have – this time in one large folding panel – to house a minifigure-scale interpretation of the ship’s bridge. It’s relatively sparse, with only four control panels, a couple of storage boxes and a central desk to populate the location, but that’s pretty similar to how it appeared in The Mandalorian, with plenty of space left over for the many characters that came together in the Season 2 finale. Weapons include The Mandalorian#39;s Amban phase-pulse blaster and spear, and Moff Gideon#39;s darksaber

Starship features bridge that doubles as handle for flying, 2 rotating turrets and hatch to access cabin Bag 2 builds up the Technic walls for the sides of the front section. This area is reminiscent of LEGO’s play scale Star Destroyers, which is cool to see the shared heritage between similar LEGO Imperial ships. Last but not least is Baby Yoda aka Grogu, who isn’t a new figure, but still looks absolutely adorable. We start by building a central core for the lid. This bag also builds the starboard panel for the lid.

The Imperial Light Cruiser measures over 5 in. (13 cm) high, 22.5 in. (58 cm) long and 8.5 in. (22 cm) wide. We saw four out of seven sets feature female characters; and 5 out of 25 characters as definite females, including one storm trooper. Cast a light against the darkness of the Empire inside the Imperial Light Cruiser, Grogu depends on it! This vessel closely resembles the Arquitens-class Command Cruiser, integrating an identical notch towards the prow. The shape here looks reasonable and I welcome this mixture of light and dark bluish grey colours. However, several blue Technic pins are clearly visible inside the notch and these look awful, which is particularly disappointing because they could easily have been concealed behind tiles. Ultimately, the sense of value can be best demonstrated in the surprise we felt when lifting up 75315 Imperial Light Cruiser when complete – it’s far heavier than we anticipated. That surprise, though, is a negative reflection of the how really it does not seem like 1,336 pieces of LEGO have gone into the set. It has the appearance of a set with closer to 800 pieces. Lots of Technic pins on the inside, lots of large grey panels on the outside.Interestingly, the bridge is reinforced with many Technic elements underneath the panelling, and the entire bridge doubles as a secure carrying handle for the ship. Here’s what the TIE looks like when it’s inside the hangar at the front. Unfortunately it’s not attached with any studs, so if you move the cruiser around too much the TIE can fall out. Strangely, this mechanism may only be activated from inside the vessel which seems illogical. The button should definitely have been located on the exterior, perhaps underneath where the appearance is less important. Alternatively, the feature could have been abandoned altogether because it works poorly, launching the TIE Fighters an extremely short distance. Unfortunately, that shoulder armour obstructs the Dark Trooper's blaster rifle, so another rifle would have been appreciated instead. The armour can be removed though, revealing exactly the same design underneath. Additionally, the Dark Trooper's head features remarkable detail and I can imagine this component proving useful for fantasy creations.

Multiple specialised Star Destroyer variants have appeared during Star Wars movies, including the revered Imperial-class and Venator-class vehicles which have achieved particular fame. Supporting vessels with comparable designs are common as well, including the Imperial Light Cruiser. And, with the cover open, there’s enough space to recreate iconic scenes from the Mandalorian season finale! Bags 8&9 go towards building the lid of the bridge. Bag 9’s contents already appeared unwrapped with bag 6, however. The next minifigure is exclusive, and is none other than Moff Gideon himself. His head print looks accurate, but his torso print design is surprisingly simple and the legs are unprinted.

However, several spots in the interior cannot hold figures when the ship cover is closed, due to the height limitations. This is slightly disappointing but still understandable, as preserving the correct external shape is more important to me than usable interior space. They might look a bit large and the spring-loaded missile tails are a bit obtrusive to the overall design, but on the whole it doesn’t look too bad and adds quite a bit of playability. As expected for a set of this size, the box is pretty massive. It has a neat design of the Imperial Light Cruiser flying through space, accompanied by a couple of TIE fighters.
