The relationship between the Mandalorian and Grogu is an example of unexpected fatherhood. [118] [124] The Mandalorian feels a connection and parental bond with Grogu because of his own childhood, when he was orphaned upon the death of his parents and was adopted by the Mandalorian culture as a "foundling".
