Using a shed base can extend the life of your shed by protecting it from damp and subsidence. Having invested several hundred pounds in a new shed, it’s worth making sure that it will last as long as possible – so don’t skimp on the base! EcoBase Fastfit can be used as a firm foundation for a wide variety of garden buildings and structures. Here’s a few of them… Each grid is also comprised of a number of open holes. If you are building a shed or other small building, you won’t need to worry about doing anything other than laying the base on a flat piece of ground. However, if you are building something larger, you will need to add around 10kg of 10mm pea gravel into each section. This can simply be poured onto the section and spread over it to fill the holes. It doesn’t take long and it ensures the base is solid enough to accommodate the building you plan to put on it. The more distance you can put between your shed and the ground, the better.
