About this deal

this book started off strong, but this story rly suffers in the middle.. the pace gets slow and the story gets pretty repetitive. the author rly needs to work on her pacing!! the flow of this book was nonexistent and there were so many passages that could have been cut out to help move it along. it’s not a slow burn, it just drags outttt. I love the way mary e. pearson writes, it’s so detailed yet not overwhelming, it’s simple yet holds so much, it just has me entranced with every word. hands down one of the best fantasy series I’ve read :D. KAZI WAS A GREAT main character. I feel like more often than not in fantasy, the female character is always the "normal person" and then the guy is always the "badass" who gets to be morally grey and have all the cool powers. I loveddd how in this book, Kazi was the one in a secret military organization and Kazi was the one who was a renowned thief and had all the badass skills

The ghosts, they never go away. They call to you in unexpected moments, their hands lacing with yours and pulling you down paths that lead nowhere.” Aaaaaaand then he falls in love with her and BELIEVES. EVERY. WORD. SHE. SAYS. EVEN. WHEN. SHE. CONTRADICTS. HERSELF. When Kazi never wants to talk about her past, he is like: "Naaah. I'm sure it's fine". He doesn't ask Kazi why she's on Ballengers territory cuz " I'm sure it's fine".. Even though he knows that she is from another Kingdom, serves another Queen ( Jase thinks Kazi is enrolled in the military) who doesn't even recognize the Ballengers' right to their Kingdom, it's all I'm sure it's fine, no way you and your military friends are foreign invadors. Jase Ballenger – The leader of the Ballenger family and a notorious thief, who finds himself drawn to Kazi. Choose your words carefully, even the words you think, because they become seeds, and seeds become history.” The characters were lovable in their own ways, I especially enjoyed Kazi’s friends, Synove and Wren. They had their quirks but were hysterical as well! Jase’s many siblings were also a riot! I truly loved his family. Needless to say the characters were all winners for me!

Dance of Thieves Series Order

A brilliant fantasy with a boldly beating heart. Mary E. Pearson is a fearless storyteller—I’m still trying to catch my breath from this book.” —Stephanie Garber, New York Times–bestselling author of Caraval and Legendary The head of the family is a poor soul Jase. A very proud family man, ready to do everything for his Family and for the people who live on his territory. The beginning of this one was a touch confusing for me, perhaps because I was looking for familiar names and faces, struggling to remember what had happened in the first series. I do this to myself a lot and really need to find a way to get over that. Lol. But within just a few chapters I was finally able to see where Kazi’s story began, as there was a bit of a recap of sorts of what her past was like and it was necessary to help set the story, I see that now. Kazi is being sent by the queen to go to Tor’s Watch to search for a criminal who escaped long ago. Her friends will be joining her as well. Kazi and her friends were once thieves, and maybe still are, but they have also been trained by the queen herself to become the perfect solider, the ones that no one would ever suspect.

p.8 • "It helped me see myself better—the impossible choice of a fleeting moment—the regrets we bury deep within us, the things we would do differently if only we could have one more chance, if only we could rewind a moment like a card of yarn and weave it into something else… One different choice might have changed everything." love didn’t even seem like the right word to explain how i felt about her. the word seemed too small, too used, too simple, and everything i felt about her seemed complicated and rare and as wide as the world.” AKA " The Tale of a proud Ballenger Family who gets bullied for being a proud family throughout the Entire History of the World, inc" Griz’s brooding stature cast a mountainous shadow over me. “Doesn’t my folding technique meet with your approval?” I asked. A LOT MORE POLITICAL intrigue and scheming happened in this book. It definitely kept me interested to keep reading and see how these characters would get out of all the impossible situations they were thrown in to

You must find the magic that warms your skin in winter, the magic that perceives what cannot be seen, the magic that curls in your gut with fierce power and will not let you give up, no matter how long or cold the days.” Synové and Raife – Members of Jase’s gang, who have their own agendas and secrets. Dance Of Thieves Themes What did they do to you, Kazi?” His voice was low, earnest. Even in the dim light, I was able to see the worry in his eyes. I pretended I didn’t know what he was talking about." Who did what?” Another thing I loved beyond the people and the world-building is the way the storyline unfolded. It felt like I could see secrets being discovered around every dark passageway throughout Tor's Watch. It was also fun to see the little cameos of the main characters from the prequel series. It gave a kind of nostalgic vibe to it which I very much enjoyed!
