About this deal

The ongoing narrative of Warhammer 40,000, with galaxy-shaking implications for the Imperium as the Lion and his sons battle to foil Vashtorr's designs

Deploy ArmiesThe players alternate setting up their remaining units one at a time, starting with the Defender. A player must deploy all of their remaining units with the Fortifications Battlefield Role before deploying any other unit. A player’s models must be set up wholly within their deployment zone. If one player finishes deploying all their units, their opponent then deploys the remainder of their units. Beanith: My best guess is the Angron book will contain the Faction-specific content and rules for Chaos Marines, Space Marines & Imperium; Vashtorr will cover Chaos Daemons, Admech and probably have the Necrons shoehorned in somehow. The 4th book is unnamed but ‘will be a distinctly xenos affair’, which I assume is code for it will be some horrific Xenos mashed burrito. We have seen the future and it involves you having to buy the other three books which will expand upon Boarding Actions with Faction-specific content and rules, plus any other expansions GW reveals beyond the books we know of. The Furnace contains a specific region in the board called The Furnace and another region called the Furnace Control Zone. Models inside the control zone can perform an action to turn on the burners in the furnace, which naturally has an unpleasant outcome for anyone inside the furnace (roll a D6 for every model inside and inflict a mortal wound on a 4+). Inside the furnace are a pair of particularly valuable markers which would explain why someone would want to go in there. Players score up to 15 points per turn for controlling one, two or more objectives and an additional five points if they control one or more objectives in the Furnace. They also score an extra 10 points if they control one or more objectives in the Furnace at the end of the game. If your Arks of Omen Detachment is an ASTRA MILITARUM Detachment, you can include one ASTRA MILITARUM Patrol Detachment that only contains units with the MILITARUM TEMPESTUS keyword as an Allied Detachment.

Mission Rule Changes

There are a number of line-of-sight based changes in Boarding Actions; Witchfire powers can only affect visible units, and powers that affect the closest unit need a visible target. Most important is the change to charges: You can only charge a unit within line of sight, and likewise you need line of sight to Heroically Intervene. The Arks of Omen season brought several changes to the game. The Arks of Omen detachmentmade list building far more open-ended, making it easier to construct an army list however you like. As with previous matched play seasons, GW released a Munitorum Field Manual with updated points values for all units, and a Balance Dataslate that made tweaks to their rules. We’ve produced a rundown of the differences between the Arks of Omen Balance Dataslate, and the previous season of matched play.

The presence of an open Hatchway can change Engagement Range. If the shortest path between two models passes through an open Hatchway then the models are considered to be in Engagement Range if they are within 2” of each other. This can lead to a unit opening a door and suddenly finding itself in Engagement range! Gaining Command Points just by killing enemy units is awesome! Arks of Omen Warhammer 40k Secondary Objectives

Aircraft

It was into this madness that Arkifane appeared at the head of the Stygian Heart. He road like some infernal boatsman into the devastation, seemingly immune to its effects. He moved on the ruins of Malakbael, identifying the broken husk where the Choral Engine's geothermal syphon coil once existed. As he moved closer to the coil, now a great rune of Khorne, the Stygian Heart began to come apart but he formed bits of the vessel to create a staircase. Vashtorr moved forward to where the core of Malakbael once stood. Taking a dark mass of stone from the core of Malakbael, Arkifane then stepped through a Warp portal, having achieved what he had set out to do. [3d] Reorganising their forces, routing their chaotic enemies under the Lion’s leadership, and evacuating, the Imperial fleet successfully blows the planet Wyrmwood to bits from orbit, along with any chaos forces still on it – but at great cost in Space Marine lives.

The secondary objectives that players can select from can be found below - players cannot select any secondary objectives from a Codex or Codex supplement. Warhammer Community: Warhammer Preview Online – The First Three Arks of Omen Books Revealed (posted 19/11/2022) (last accessed 19/11/2022) On the whole, these are solid. There’s a lot of options here and some really cool narrative concepts for play here, such as the furnace and the explosive decompression of Hull Breach. If your Arks of Omen Detachment is a THOUSAND SONS Detachment, you can include one LEGIONES DAEMONICA Patrol Detachment that only contains units with the TZEENTCH keyword as an Allied Detachment. Neverlight - Destroyed by the Word Bearers after they assaulted the Ark and unleashed its Daemonic wardings. [4c] At the Onalpa System, the Ark of Omen Colossus translated into local space. Boasting a huge compliment of Traitor Titans, the Balefleet scattered the defenders as Dark Magi and their servants descended upon the rich worlds of Onalpa to sate their greed. This proved an opening which allowed the Ultramarines under Chaplain Julianos to board the ‘’Colossus’’. While nearly every Ultramarine of the boarding party was lost, they succeeded into causing an engine meltdown to destroy it. Meanwhile, Eldar Corsairs of the Diamond Talon boarded the Ark Devourer of Hope, crippling its command center.
