We can find the perfect product for our needs, that fits the brief in every single way. But if it doesn’t fit our budgets, we simply can’t (or at least shouldn’t) buy it. Just before we get into the detail of analysing the price of this product, we want to briefly highlight the importance of setting yourself a budget before you spend too much time shopping around for a suitable product. It’s all too often that we get carried away when shopping and find ourselves buying a fantastic product, but probably actually overdelivers on what we need and therefore costs a lot more than we should have spent. So spend a bit of time looking around at the sort of price you can expect to pay for products in the Lawnmowers category and use that alongside your own financial situation to set yourself a budget.
The brand of product you buy can vary in importance, from person to person. Some people will of course be much more particular about the brands they will use. Whilst others aren’t interested in the brand and are more interested in the overall quality or price of the product itself. Thankfully WORX is a brand that many customers have grown to love over the years and is very popular for items in the Lawnmowers category.The first is brand. Looking at the brand of the product is often a really good indicator for judging product quality. For example you’d expect a much higher quality product from a brand known for providing excellent quality than you would from an unknown or even a budget brand. As with all cordless lawn mowers, not being tethered by the cord not only makes it easier to mow the lawn, but safer, quieter and more environmentally friendly. It has excellent built quality, and as the product is made in the UK, you will get all the parts at a reasonable price. As the power system of Workx mower is electric, there are zero emissions. Moreover, it works quietly without disturbing the neighbourhood or family members. All thanks to its Mute Technology, which decreases the sound level to a great extent. Like many cordless lawn mowers, the WORX WG779E.2 is powered by two Lithium-ion batteries (40V in total) and electrical motor which will charge in around 2 hours. The batteries are removed from the mower for charging and storage. When they go below about 3 volt they will undergo unwanted chemical reactions that aren't reversible and will cause their internal resistance to increase, most charging devices or battery control modules will have an under-volt protection set around 2.5 - 3.0 volts at which point it will not allow charging. Charging time of the mower is two hours. Just make sure you don’t set it at the shortest setting from the start when the lawn has significant growth, instead start at a higher setting and gradually work your way down. This gives the areas of small grass time to catch up with the long, resulting in a more even and healthy looking lawn.
WORX batteries are covered by a 1 Year Limited Consumer Warranty and are not eligible for warranty extension. This is a lightweight, very capable mower which looks to be very well made. I bought it to replace a petrol driven mower and it's so nice not having to deal with smelly petrol. It will just about cut my medium sized lawn with the 2ah batteries supplied and that's when the grass is dry and not very long, I already have more batteries as I have other worx tools. So depending on the size of your lawn and length of grass you might need another pair of batteries and I would allow for that when buying, apart from that it's a nice mower that is very easy to use. Do you like a striped lawn? Well the WORX does have a roller at the rear that gives that lovely striped look to your lawn. The roller also has suspension allowing it to adapt better to the contours of your lawn. This is another advantage over the Flymo 300 – if you like striped lawns that is!

At approx. 7 kg, the lawnmower weighs three kilograms less than Ryobi OLM1833B. It also has a nifty grass comb, that mows along the lawn edges for a neat appearance. It isn’t as compact as some cordless mowers and doesn’t fold as neatly as the fantastically foldable Flymo EasiStore 340R Li. However, you can still relax the bolts on the top half of the handle and fold it over the lower half for storage. At roughly 12kg in weight, it’s also an easy mower to heft around: just grab the chunky orange handle in the centre and you’re good to go.
