About this deal

This look has to be my favorite. It is warm, but has a very day time/ wearable look to it. This will be perfect to wear to the office or school. I love how this palette blends: these shadows pretty much blend themselves and a look like this can be whipped up in a matter of minutes.

Yes, I think if you have a good deal of palettes you’ll run into a lot of similiar shades but none are complete dupes. For example, Warmth and Cozy seem like shades I’ve seen before in many palettes but they have a much more warm and fiery undertone in comparison. If you’re into warm shades you’re bound to love this. It’s basically autumn in a palette. All the shades of all the falling leaves are right here in this palette. charmer Ingredients: Talc, mica, silica, zinc stearate, boron nitride, ethylhexyl palmitate, sodium dehydroacetate, caprylyl glycol, phenoxyethanol, vanillin, caprylic/capric triglyceride, hexylene glycol, vanilla planifolia fruit extract, kaolin, carmine (CI 75470), titanium dioxide (CI 77891), iron oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499). S’more: Described by the brand as a Pinky Beige color. This is a light warm beige shade in matte finish. The texture is buttery smooth and very finely milled. It works well as a matte highlight shade or to set the primer with it. It is a bit powdery – but not chalky. It has good pigmentation. You have to keep in mind that this is not a universally-usable palette. Women with deeper skin tones may find the shade variation not working for them. I think this is more suitable for light to medium complexions, even tan skin, but anyone deeper, should skip this.

Simmer: Described by the brand as a Copper. This is a medium, warm copper with a metallic sheen. It is smooth and has good pigmentation. The shade is so similar to the shade Sunset – it makes me wonder why there wasn’t a bit more variation between these two – to allow for a more varied eye look. And that neutral undertone can easily be seen in the swatches. Yes it’s warm, but it is a very wearable warm toned palette. The warmest tones are housed in the middle and the other shades are more golden and brown. As you can see, pigmentation is great. One swipe of a finger gives you this result. The dark matte brown is a great staple and there are some good transition shades. Warmth: Described by the brand as a terracotta. The shade of the hour (if not the year) – a medium, warm-toned, burnt orange shade – but kind of muted, instead of being bright. It had good pigmentation but was again powdery – though not as bad as Cashmere. The texture itself is quite smooth and easy to work with. Needed a bit of variation in tone with regards to the shimmer shades. Out of the 3 main shimmer shades, two are variations of copper. Could have done with a more rust toned shimmer or a even a slightly plum-my one.

Cashmere

Pigmentation for most shades is really good. Two shades, Cashmere and Latet – part from being quite powdery, also sheer out quite easily which becomes a bit painful when being used on the lid, but work well when being used as a transition shade. Having said that, I am not sure that it is a miss from the lab/manufacturing perspective or it is by design. Meaning, are the shades low in pigmentation and easy to sheer out by accident or on purpose. Because the shades which have this concern have more than one use in the palette and the fact that they can sheer out actually works well for the palette. The shades blend well and mesh well with the other eye shadows without getting muddy, but it isn’t as effortless as say, the shadows from Natasha Denona or Viseart. Eyeshadow palettes can take your look to the next level, whether you are going for the no-makeup makeup look, full-out glam, or somewhere in between! Makeup eye shadow can completely transform your eyes, enhance your natural eye color, or simply call attention toward your eyes. With our eyeshadow palettes, you can create an iconic look all your own! The Tarte Toasted palette definitely has some similarities to the Urban Decay Heat palette. I don’t own the Heat palette, so I can’t compare them in terms of quality. However, I do own two other naked palettes and rate them very highly in my collection. The deciding factor for me was I wanted to try a palette from Tarte, as I was less familiar with their products. Even though the Heat palette makes me drool when I look at swatches, I felt the Toasted had a more wearable range of shades for my taste. That being said I’m not ruling out getting the Heat palette in the future. Both palette have 12 shadows and the price point is very similar. As is the amount of eye shadows in each pan, so there isn’t much between them. It really comes down to personal preference.
