About this deal

Dark Angels Primaris upgrade sprues and 1x Dark Angels transfer sheet (not worth points but worth mentioning) For armaments, a Repulsor starts with a heavy onslaught gatling cannon (12 shots!), Icarus ironhail heavy stubber for limited air defense, a regular ironhail heavy stubber, 2 krakstorm grenade launchers, 2 storm bolters, twin heavy bolters, autolaunchers (for smokescreens), and a single shot hunter-slayer missile with Strength 10. All told, that is a lot of firepower. But wait, you can swap weapons out! as well as the return of some old favourites such as the Ork Warboss on Bike – looks like the Meks have finally fixed his ride. Waaagh!

One of the few vehicles able to Transport Primaris Marines, Repulsors carry up to 10. They may even transport Primaris in Mk X Gravis armor, but they take up 2 spots. However, transport is not the primary purpose of Repulsors. Just look at the shooting options! You can look forward to faction-specific Agendas, Requisitions, Battle Traits, Crusade Relics and, in the case of the Necrons, even Dynastic Epithets – bespoke titles that offer unique upgrades or abilities. Here’s one such example, The Slow Decay of the Self Requisition, which represents a Character succumbing to the mindless lust for violence embraced by the Destroyer Cult. The mysterious Crypteks are about to bring another string to your tachyon bow – OK, so a tachyon arrow doesn’t need a bow to fire, but you catch our drift! In fact, they’re about to bring four strings! There are now four, fully fledged varieties of Cryptek, divided according to their hypertechnological specialisation, and each benefits from their own datasheet replete with a plethora of thematic rules. The Plasmancer that made its debut in Indomitus was just the start! Honour the Chapter – 2CP –A unit of Assault Intercessors can fight again at the end of the Fight phase. Tying this specifically to Assault Intercessors (not even INTERCESSOR in general, stopping you using it with Veteran Intercessors or Death Company Intercessors for some reason) hurts it a lot, but Assault Intercessors aren’t bad at all and if you get a reasonable number of them into combat, getting to fight twice is a worthwhile use of 2CP against the right target. B- mostly because of its limited targets. The balance of AP, damage, and number of shots are sufficiently different that it may not necessarily be obvious what the best choice is, so we ran some simulations against squads of Intercessors, Gravis, and Ork troops to get a sense of which option would be the most effective. Since 9th Edition is so heavily dependent on movement and contesting objectives we also examined how the heavy options would fare when the units were forced to move. First up is a comparison of all three types against Intercessors and Gravis units.Uncompromising Fire – 2CP –One INFANTRY unit in your army that is performing an action can shoot without that action failing. Very handy for something like Deploy Scramblers, where you might want to deep strike a unit in and be able to shoot something and still do the action. B+ Rapid Assault. Units with this tactic don’t suffer the penalty from Advancing and shooting Assault weapons. This is a neat ability. It’s good in White Scars but there it’s paired with the insanely good Advance and charge – here in the Successors it’s a bit more whatever. B-

Tough and reliable. Space Marine units have great profiles, with even the basic Marine offering high Strength and Toughness and a 3+ save. They’re a resilient army which can be forgiving for newer players. On the topic of surprises, we already know that the Orks and Adepta Sororitas codexes are on their way, but what about the next two?

Knowledge is Power. Re-roll any or all dice rolls of a 1 when attempting to manifest or deny a psychic power. Helpful for avoiding Perils of the Warp and smoothing out psychic results, but ultimately not as good as having a +1. Also only applies to a few units in the army, and Librarians still aren’t the Marines’ strong suit. C
