I found there was no need to RTFM (Read The F**king Manual) as the menu and navigation were pretty easy to suss out on your own by dabbling and pressing combinations of buttons.I was pleased how much common sense each option was.I like the way they kept the main modes in a simple top level (3 x Fire) scroll navigation while keeping the deeper, less used functions within its own sub menu. Minimal branding on the device you have PULSE II nicely engraved on the front edge near the squonk bottle and on the rear edge is VANDY VAPE in large lettering, there is more but it is hidden with the resin panels. On the front panel is the fire button, colour screen with new chipset , which is uncluttered clear and easy to read with all the relevant information displayed, battery life ,watts, resistance, volts, a puff counter with 6 digits so in theory you can display 999999 puffs, and a puff timer, below the screen the wattage up and down buttons and Type-C USB port. I’ve mainly included it to show just what an amazing job Vandy Vape have done to include so much into the V2 for not much extrasize, pretty impressive all in all. I’m pleased to say the menu options are super simple to navigate and understand, and I’ve always liked the option to add or remove power mods. It is not advisable as the mod itself is designed to function with that specific type of atomizer. If you do use it with a different mod, your e-liquid can end up leaking through the hole in the squonk pin and end up causing damage to your vape. Once fully paired, you’ll notice a little green tab at the top right, that shows that your phone is linked to the mod, and you’ll notice a small phone logo at the top right of your mod! Impressive. The Profile Squonk is powered by the Wotofo’s own in-house chipset and outputs reliable, consistent power whether in squonk or box mod mode. The Profile Squonk will fire at up to 80W in squonk mode and at up to 200W in dual battery box mod mode. There are also numerous safety features built into the Profile Squonk mod like short circuit protection, low battery protection, overheating protection, overcurrent protection, and more. The Topside Dual supports Power, Bypass, and Temperature Control Modes. It will fire at up to 220W in Power mode and from 200-600F in TC. Being a dual battery mod, you can expect great battery life at mid-high wattages and decent but respectable efficiency above 100W. The Vandy Vape Pulse V2 has pretty much every mode we see on mods these days. It’s the same set up as their Swell mod. You have Power mode (watts) with preheat options, Voltage mode, Bypass mode, and Temp control mode for Ni200, Ti, and SS. No TCR mode but the TCR is adjustable in each of the preset modes. If you use the app you can also set preheats up to do watt curves as well, but the app isn’t very user friendly overall. But it works well enough and we’ll go over that more later. Vandy Vape has had the Vandy Vape App since the Swell Mod, if I am not mistaken, although this is the first time I am using this app. Unfortunately, it is only available via the Google Play Store (Android) at the moment due to the various oddities going on with vape apps in other app environments like iOS. First and foremost, this is a great mod to squonk with. Filling the bottle is easy and mess free, which is more than I can say for a lot of other squonk mods. The bottle is squishy but firm so it doesn’t take too much effort to squonk, but it also doesn’t over-squonk easily. All it takes is a light press on the bottle to rejuice your RDA. The Pulse V2 has a wattage range of 5-95W. It comes with Power mode, Voltage mode, Bypass mode, and Temperature Control modes. There’s no TCR mode but you can adjust the TCR in each mode by going into the menu settings. You can also adjust the wattage in TC mode by pressing the power button 4 times. The next part is update here you can update the firmware via your phone, you can also change the UI but at present there is nothing to update or change.I can tell you that this mod has definitely made its way into my daily rotation. It is a joy to use, and I will not bat an eyelid recommending this mod for anyone looking for a quality squonker. The second tab is for temperature control mode. You can select your coil material, set your temperature, and also set the wattage in TC mode. Unfortunately there’s no way to set your TCR which is disappointing. Squonking is a style of vaping that involves a squonk mod, and a bottom fed rebuildable tank atomiser. So far I haven’t used the app too much for controls as it’s been easier to just change the settings on the mod itself. However, the find my device feature is clutch and worth having the app for. I had to run the Tsunami wide open which seemed about right to be fair but left no room for further options or eventualities.

Squonk performance: the mod performed very well. Although part of the squonking will depend on the atomiser used, I didn’t find that it squonked too much liquid or that it fills up my RDA too slowly. There’s also hardly any leaking that can be found inside the 510 connection of the mod that does sometimes happen with squonkers. The bottles that came with the kit are also just right for me in terms of the applied pressure needed to get my liquid into my atty. This is a surprisingly short device, considering it houses a single 21700 battery, its literally millimetres taller than the original Pulse BF Mechanical Squonk Mod. Now you might think that this review is sort of a retro one. However, at least from what I can see, there is not a massive amount of new regulated squonk mods/kits being produced of late. It is definitely not as plentiful as the plethora of pod devices out there! I can understand why, as not every vaper will go into squonking. You really cannot fault the rapid rate of innovation that has come to the pods ecosystem; hence they experience more progression over squonk mods. But, I also think that this is why we who go into squonking will find mods or kits that have withstood the test of time. The Vandy Vape Pulse II is one of those squonk mods.
