The listening experience is business-like, balanced, detailed and dynamic, but by no means “boring”. The NDH 30 avoids superficial listening fun by emphasising many consumer products. This also explains why I had to turn up the level a little more in places. The spatial resolution is impressive. The NDH 30 allows razor-sharp localization in the stereo panorama and makes the depth of the mix evident. The .77 lb NDH 30 is also a tad lighter than its .86 lb predecessor. Both models are circumaural (surround the ear) designs featuring 38mm Duofol drivers and high-strength neodymium magnets offering a high sensitivity and a smooth frequency response. Of course, there are some notable differences in each model‘s overall specs and performance. The Neumann.Berlin NDH 30 offer an upgraded level of performance over the aforementioned headphones at a rather affordable price. The tuning will certainly appeal to those who prefer a neutral and accurate tonal balance, combined with excellent speed, clarity, and detail retrieval. When it comes down to headphones, I use them for specific tasks during mixing, but I hardly ever rely on cans for a mix if I can avoid it. I came across many good headphones in the past, but there was not a single one that would be perfect or sound neutral. In my studio, I have around ten different models of different brands like AKG, Audio Technica, Austrian Audio, etc., and they share one thing: they all sound very different from each other. The NDH 30 are primarily designed to be the studio engineer’s tool for peering into mixes when monitor speakers are unavailable. What does it mean exactly? Despite their response being more transparent than the competing Hi-X65s – with their sparkling highs – wearing the NDH30s isn’t quite as comfortable an experience. As a result, we didn’t always feel as enveloped in the music as we did with the Austrian Audios. The NDH 20 provided a very linear sounding tonal balance, good isolation, in a compact design that engineers could take with them to both the studio and other recording venues. There is the Hifiman Sound..... which is......."we are Asian Audiophile Headphone makers, and we like it bright, very detailed, and not too much midrange".
On my first try, I immediately fell in love with the high level of comfort that the NDH 30 offers. Since the earpieces give considerably more space than the NDH 20, for example, the ears have full freedom. Neumann had already crafted a headphone worthy of its legacy. The NDH 30 is another excellent entry that offers users a gently more open, natural-sounding option while retaining what made the previous model a studio-focused success. The 120Ohm load impedance makes the NDH 30 a viable option for OTL tube amps as well. Unfortunately, I’m out of tube amps, so I couldn’t test that theory. Bass

Tonally it’s fine, but for some reason, they manage to sound pretty anemic. To get any kind of impact from them, I occasionally find myself cranking the volume higher than I would like. Midrange The Neumann NDH 30 fits comfortably on the head. The pleasantly soft fabric cover feels pleasant against the skin and does not cause much sweating. There are no extras, but the ear pads and the cable can be replaced. The latter can optionally be replaced by shorter or spiral cables. There are many aspects of audio performance that can be measured, and the idea of manufacturer specifications is to guarantee that what you’re buying will measure a certain way. Some of these specifications are more important than others, and in the case of both microphones and monitoring systems, it’s easy to get hung up on frequency response as the be‑all and end‑all of performance. But is it? Female vocals are interesting because they don’t have the typical upper midrange lift that pushes them ahead of the instrumentation with perhaps too much energy and hardness depending on the quality of the recording. The N30, is not a V shape. Its soundstage is more wide then deep, as that is necessary for the accuracy.
