The carers group is an 8-10 week programme that aims to help female carers of sexually abused children and young people. Our community teams assess and treat children and young people who are struggling with difficulties associated with neurodevelopment conditions where these are having a significant impact on the child’s development and quality of life, and causing them and/or their carers distress. These difficulties may be causing the child or young person's functioning to deteriorate and problems to escalate. Groups for female carers Since October 2022, we have a referral process in place whereby requests for support for children and young people with possible neurodevelopmental needs (such as ADHD and Autism), are referred into us via the child's school/education provider rather than via a GP. This is done collaboratively with the school and child's parents/carers as, together, they will have a fuller understanding of the child's day to day challenges/needs in different environments. I spoke to a lady called Sarah who was fantastic. She related to what I was saying about my son and signposted me to get lots of support. She could not have been more patient and helpful.

Services are more accessible and user friendly through more convenient locations and online services Referrals for continence (early toileting, constipation, nocturnal enuresis, daytime enuresis), occupational therapy and speech and language therapy can be made directly by parents/carers themselves via One Stop. How doesOne Stop work? Autistic people can have differences with interpreting both verbal and non-verbal language like gestures or tone of voice. Some autistic people are unable to speak or have limited speech while other autistic people have very good language skills but struggle to understand sarcasm or tone of voice.
