The S5IIX is also pretty snappy at spotting an animal in the frame, but it doesn’t target the eyes so you don’t always get the focus where you want it. In some cases you may need to switch to using a small AF point. Enjoy creative live streaming with digital single lens mirrorless cameras, both indoors and outdoors. Live streaming (RTMP/RTMPS protocol) can be easily configured via the LUMIX Sync app (Android / iOS). In environments with a lot of radio interference, stable communication speed can be ensured by tethering the camera via USB to a smartphone. The vari-angle hinge also means that the screen can be made clearly visible whether the camera is in portrait or landscape orientation. The S5II was already a video-centric camera, offering features like; best in-class active image stabilization, waveform monitoring, shutter angle control, 4 channel audio and 10-bit color in almost all of its video formats. However, the Lumix S5 IIX takes things a step further, especially for pro-filmmakers.

It’s an all round fantastic camera, which excels at doing what it was designed to do, and pleasing who it was designed to please. The fan means the S5 II can record for unlimited periods in most of its video modes, as tested by Panasonic at temperatures of 40°C (104°F). Panasonic points out that most of its rivals only quote figures for 22–25°C (72–77°F), which is significantly less demanding and less representative of average temperatures across much of the US. Video The S5 II gains a couple of additional functions, including 'Full-range HLG' shooting. This ignores the upper and lower brightness limits that are imposed by the HLG standard, meaning you retain a little more flexibility in the edit. This is handy both if you have HLG as your final intended output or if you're using it as a Log-like intermediate step. The Lumix S5 IIX is a capable stills shooter, with a full-frame image sensor that delivers impressive image quality, low light performance and file fidelity, and offers super-fast 30fps burst shooting that's ideal for capturing fast action. However, there are better photography cameras out there. ProRes] in [5.8K/29.97p] [5.8K/25.00p] [C4K/59.94p] [C4K/50.00p] when Thermal Management mode is set to Standard. Thanks to host of new and improved features, the LUMIX S5IIX and S5II are able to deliver truly astounding photo and video performance, including high-speed burst shooting at up to 9fps with mechanical shutter and 30fps with electronic shutter (capable of capturing up to 300 images), a 96-megapixel High Resolution Mode (JPEG/RAW) and Dual Native ISO sensitivity, which minimises noise and allows a maximum ISO of 51200 (204800 when Extended). Lumix menus are logical to navigate and the camera has enough customizable function buttons to limit menu-diving expeditions. Everything you need regularly is at your fingertips except for the USB-C SSD recording option, which is buried in the setup menu. Inexplicably, there’s also no option to add it to shortcuts at the time of writing. That aside, the S5II X is easy to get comfortable with, even for someone who’s never used a Lumix before.The S5 IIX promises a lot, and it delivers on all of them including the most important of all for a video-oriented camera, unlimited video recording at any resolution. Thanks to the active cooling system, the S5 IIX doesn't overheat even when pumping out 6K video –unlike almost every other mirrorless camera available. There is enough commonality between the S5 and the Mark II that the new camera can still use the existing DMW-BGS5 battery grip, providing space for a second battery. Battery
